Genelec with Dave Eringa

After having opted for monitors Genelec for more than two decades, now it has done it again with a pair of 8351B three-way smart active equipment from The Ones series.

The British engineer and producer Dave Eringa has invested in a couple of Genelec monitors, brand that distributes Audio-Technica Iberia, three-way smart assets 8351B of the series The Ones, having relied on their previous monitors for more than two decades.

The first time I heard them was making an album with Roger Daltrey at Metropolis Studios.. It was a positive first experience, take them to their own studio Electric Daveyland would be something else. “I'm lucky enough to be friends with Andy Bensley, by Genelec, and came here and set them up correctly for me with GLM calibration software”, explained Eringa.

“Andy seems to think that in this room, these speakers without sub are flat to the 30 hz, which is quite broad, and I don't have enough good things to say about them”, continuous. “I haven't moved anything anything or a millimeter. First I had to move some things from the room that created reflections and so on., so I've left everything else as is, because it sounded great from the start”.

Having used the same studio monitors for so long, the transition to an entirely new configuration has been a unique challenge. “It was a learning curve., No doubt”, reflects Eringa. “Having worked with a set of monitors continuously during 20 years, I underestimated how easy it would be to change. But at the time I was mixing an album., and once I got used to them, a week later, I started mixing a 50% Faster. It was amazing, a real game changer for me.".
