Nanolumens dvLed Performance adapts to the architectural requirements of buildings
In the Bibulton A four-sided LED tower has been installed that reflects its sculptural form. A project that covers 8,5 meters of dvLED Performance screens of less than 4 mm.
In the heart of the city is the modern Fulton County Central Library an Atlanta. A building on which a canopy has been installed, configured with screens NanoLumens dvLED Performance, and whose objective is to achieve a great visual impact. Designed by architects Marcel Breuer and Hamilton Smith, imitates the style used in the Whitney Museum in New York. It has ten levels and is made up of robust forms that offer a sculptural architectural form.
NanoLumens took architect Ron White's canopy concept and worked with Capital Signs to carry out the integration and structural design of the canopy.
Several challenges were raised in this project, starting with the signal infrastructure that is located 9 meters underground.
“The structure, along with the intricate stone that was imported from Spain, made it even more challenging. Together with NanoLumens we were able to improve the visual impact of the Fulton Library”, said Andy Panos, vice president of Capital Signs.
Para NanoLumens, This project required betting on its portfolio of outdoor products. “For its execution, we developed a method to divide the system into components and build a custom framework to meet the design requirements.”, adds Panos.
The team of AEC-SPG and NanoLumens R&D devised a topology with the ability to make an outdoor screen with sharp corners. “It is not something exclusive to Nanolumens, but we have been able to find an appropriate topology in a short time for this project. “We now have this capability across the board using components from our Performance Series of dvLED products.”, clarifies Dan Rossborough, Director of Strategic Projects at NanoLumens.
Challenging projects are a great way to test the rapid deployment of innovative solutions. The Central Library project tested the capabilities of NanoLumens Performance Series dvLED products and provided a new framework for future outdoor projects..
The multimedia tower has four sides and covers 8,5 meters high by 2 meters wide, and is composed of Performance series dvLEDs of less than 4 mm. Specialized for flat surfaces and optimized for gloss, Performance series corner screens integrate seamlessly into existing architecture and are designed to enhance and energize outdoor environments.
The Central Library incorporates dvLED and high-resolution content on all four sides of an impressive marquee that evokes the architectural style of the building.
“NanoLumens engineers are the best. Your attention to detail really helped make this project successful.. Together we were able to improve the visual impact of the Fulton Library”, Andy Panos, Vice President of Capital Signs.
