Almo Corporation Exertis

The purchase of Almo Corporation, the most important in the activity of the company DCC (which is quoted as Exertis), reinforces its AV proposal and follows the line of acquisitions of this multinational of services and technological distribution in the last year.

The incorporation of the North American Almo Corporation continues the strategy of international expansion based on acquisitions of companies carried out by DCC – Exertis in the country, how Stampede, Jam Industries, The Music People and JB&to.

With it, this multinational of services and technological distribution expands its capacity in the professional audioviosual market and client portfolio positioning itself as the largest specialist in this field in North America.

By integrating Almo with our North American business, we will form the largest professional specialized AV business in North America”.

DCC ExertisAs this manager adds, “the 75 years of Almo's history of growth and success, combined with its strong relationships with industry partners and its ability to continuously innovate and expand, will be great assets for Exertis. In turn, provide significant economies of scale, access to the global supply chain and other benefits to its customers".

Almo is a third generation family business, which has 660 employees, nine distribution and warehouse centers throughout North America. After its acquisition, the company will benefit from Exertis' financial resources and supply chain logistics to offer its suppliers and partners better business opportunities and profit potential.

At the head of Almo will continue the Chaiken family, with Warren Chaiken as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Gene Chaiken as president. The combined divisions of Exertis and Almo Pro AV will be led by Sam Taylor, current vp. executive and chief operating officer of the latter and, after completion of integration, the combined business will be renamed Exertis Almo Pro AV.

For its part, John Dunne, Exertis Pro AV team leader in North America, will join Almo's executive team and help coordinate this integration.

Together with your Pro AV business, Almo Corporation is the largest distributor of household appliances, with a complete product proposition for small and medium-sized retailers across the U.S.. USA, and range premium for builders designing luxury residential refrigeration facilities, ventilation, Etc. in indoor and outdoor environments, which will continue to be directed by Steve Terry and Jack Halperin, respectively.
