Martin Audio updates the sound system of the Resom Resort Splas
The Resom Resort Splas facilities have renewed their infrastructure based on the WPC three-way bi-amplified line array, as well as the SXC118 cardioid subwoofer from Martin Audio.
Serve owns three resorts in Chungcheong province in Korea: Spl, Spa Resort y Forest. A facility located in a dense forest of trees, that seeks to provide healing through nature and water.
A tender was issued for the renovation of existing facilities at Splas, as well as for the construction of a new building. The Martin Audio Distributor, Sama Sound, partnered with Asea Sound, to present the offer.
Wavefront Precision Compact (WPC) from Martin Audio was the match for the specified system, since it met the performance criteria. “This system practically decided by itself. The same thing happened with the subwoofer.. Since a cardioid subwoofer had been specified, we design the system with a team SXC118”, Kwon, Sama Sound product manager.
The place was built without taking into account architectural acoustics, so there were a lot of sound reflections, especially from the back wall of the place, as well as from backstage. “The function Hard Avoid helped us control those reflexes, while the customer was more than satisfied with the way the SXC118 cardioid subwoofer reduced the radiation behind”, added Kwon.
Martin Audio speakers, including many from the CDD series, have been installed in several multipurpose rooms that are used primarily for corporate events, seminars and workshops.
The system needed to be versatile enough to handle a number of sources, from background music, voice announcements and, occasionally, live music.
Located in pendants of five elements per side in the main Juniper Hall, accompanied by four subwoofers SXC118 I don't do cardio, WPC is handled in resolution 2 boxes from a iKon iK81 and four amplifiers iK42. A pair of LE200 equipment has been provided for stage monitoring.
At Rosemary Hall, spec carries over to a pair of Martin Audio subwoofers W8VDQ y SXC118, with two CDD8B additional speakers that act as delay speakers, powered by an additional four-channel iK42.
In the Geranium Hall a pair of CDD8Bs have been mounted as main speakers and CDD5B like delays, with four CDD8B in the Iris & Marigold Hall, and a pair of the same speaker in each of the Sage Hall spaces, Jasmine Hall y Verbena Hall.
The supervision of the project for Sama Sound was carried out by the sales manager, Jong Hwa Seo, while Seung Hwan Kim designed the system. Hong Geun Kim was in charge of speaker installation and system adjustments.
Explaining your reasons for choosing Martin Audio, the engineer, Seung Hwan Kim explains that since the place is mostly rented, equipment had to be chosen that would be familiar to the visiting engineers. “Martin Audio was one of my considerations from the beginning and provided me with the best system solution. I have experienced both at exhibitions and when I worked in a rental company. The sound is very clear and powerful, and the balance is extremely good”.
“As we are a resort, aesthetics were also important. Martin Audio speakers look stylish and fabulous, but they are also small enough to be quite discreet, particularly the cardioid subwoofer; It is not easy to find one so small”, aclara Hwan Kim .
After start-up, recruiting team moved to Forest Resom, where a similar Martin Audio system was specified.
