He Capitole theater in Ghent (Belgium) has replaced tungsten luminaires with LED equipment Robe T1 Profile. The investment made is part of an initiative to update the rest of the elements of the system and opt for LED lighting to achieve a more current and sustainable infrastructure..
The purchase of T1 Profile was supervised by the technical director of the room, Rui Pinto, which takes a clearly practical approach to technical production. After speaking with Bart Weyts, from the company L&L Stage Services, evaluated the different options and opted for Robe technology. “The color mix was the first of many features that impressed me”, declares Rui. “The color of the lamp itself is perfect for front lighting”.
Robe T1 Profile equipment is used in the 95% of the shows held at the Capitole and has proven to be an ideal system to produce effects when the auditorium is used for parties and other events.
With capacity 1.700 personas, The Capitole theater is part of the Sportpaleisn group and opened its doors in 1932 as one of the largest cinemas in Belgium. Now, offers a wide variety of live shows, from bands and musical artists to dance productions, ballet, theater and music.
Some shows use the more than 200 home lighting fixtures, controlled by a console MA Lighting BUT dot2. Others use it together with elements of their own production, and some bring their equipment. A number of different in-house production packages offer a variety of options within that, but the FOH lighting bridge is included in all of them, so it is essential to have reliable devices.
