Given the brand's association with the roar of the road and the sea, It was crucial that the new venue had a powerful and versatile sound system, according to Kevin Morel, co-founder of Morex Custom. “The sound environment in a venue like ours is very important. Our clients have to feel the music and enjoy it. Acoustics for the customer shopping experience are very important”.

To make this vision a reality, the local system integrator Scenic and Audiovisual Engineering (ISA) -whose parent company, Sonowest Group, is an APG partner- specified a configuration that included compact coaxial speakers from the French manufacturer's iX series, as well as its compact subwoofer SB115-M2.

The advantages of this system, which includes the models iX6 (6.5 driver″) e iX8 (8 controller″), they are multiple, according to Mathias Collin, ISA works supervisor, that praises the “ease of integration, the high efficiency, small size and visual appeal, Simple but effective from APG speakers”.

For Morex Custom, It was essential that the speaker system be able to handle a number of applications, a strong point of the iX range, who is as comfortable in a large leisure venue or convention center as in a club, bar or restaurant. “The important thing for us was to have a powerful but pleasant sound, so our clients can talk without shouting”, explains Morel, which adds that the sound system also had to offer “Enough power to accommodate more festive occasions and DJ sets”.

Client specifications also included audio zoning with independent level management, that was done with the software ArmoniaPlus of Powersoft. The user can manage the zones, including the volume of each area, via a wireless touch screen interface connected to a digital matrix Yamaha MTX.

ISA also turned to Powersoft for the amplifiers used in the installation: and Ottocanali 4K4 DSP+D eight channels and one Duecanali 804 DSP+D two channels. Both came recommended by APG, which has developed specific amplifier presets for its speakers.

Morex Custom is impressed with the installation, to the point that he is studying how to extend the audio system outside, where a garden terrace with trees will become a must-see outdoor space when good weather approaches: “The client is very happy with the sound inside the bar and is considering the possibility of equipping the exterior of the Morex House with APG speakers to have equal and constant sound quality throughout”, concludes Mathias.

“Customer experience in retail and hospitality has become paramount in the last two years, with stores like Morex Custom House serving as destinations beyond the traditional retail environment”, comments APG sales engineer Alexis Reymond. “With high quality transducers and innovative technology No Diffraction Baffle (NDB) providing superior sound in a compact size, Our iX series speakers are perfectly suited for these types of premium, next-generation retail destinations.”
