The Reel Store chooses Barco as immersive digital art projection partner
The technology agreement makes Barco at the projection equipment supplier The Reel Store, the new digital art gallery, which will be inaugurated next 13 of may, in the English city Coventry.
Following the huge popularity of immersive art spaces around the world, the first permanent immersive digital art gallery in the UK, called The Reel Store, will open its doors in Coventry next 13 May 2022.
This new space will have innovative experiential art commissions on a permanent basis, becoming one of the cultural attractions of the English city of Coventry, as part of the legacy program of the City of Culture of the country, which will take place over the next four years (more data in Digital AV).
The main exhibition space of 800 m² created by Coventry City of Culture Trust, will host a large videomapping canvas thanks to the installation of multiple high-quality video projectors and an immersive sound system.
For this, Barco will provide fourteen laser projectors of the model G100-W22, a single chip device with a power of 22.000 lumens and WUXGA resolution, as part of technology partnership agreement to provide Reel Store visitors with the best possible viewing experience.

Also, Richard Marples, Boat Sales Director, underlines that “we have been fortunate to have contributed to similar exhibitions and installations around the world, “and now we are hugely honored to be collaborating on the UK’s first permanent immersive digital art gallery.”.
As this newspaper has already advanced, the first exhibition will be Machine Memoirs: space , by the Turkish-American audiovisual artist Refik Anadol, which was first shown in Istanbul, in which technology is used artificial intelligence (IA) to reimagine two million images of space, publicly available, taken by satellites and telescopes of the NASA and the International Space Station.
Machine Memoirs: Space offers a cinematic experience of 360º accompanied by 3D audio, allowing the public to experience the beauty and spectacle of space science, created entirely through AI.
