“Our new Meyer Sound systems offer an accurate and transparent representation of the processed audio signal”, explains Robert Kondziela, main project consultant. "At the same time, The self-powered concept allows the equipment to be adjusted according to the needs of current production, since each element can be controlled separately. The main stage system is powered by left and right sets of 11 Lina speakers each, with deep bass, reinforced by four low frequency control elements 900-LFC . Fill and effects systems comprise two speakers UPQ-1D and four Ultra-X40, with a pair of Galileo Galaxy network platforms 816 that provide system control and optimization.
In addition, has been deployed in the main theater 12 Ultra-X20 speakers as surround sound, with immersive effects provided through the free spatial sound design and mixing tool Spacemap Go.
The theater also maintains an in-house inventory of Meyer Sound loudspeakers that can be freely reconfigured as needed for the complex's smaller stages.. Sound designers can choose from a set of 14 point source speakers (Ultra-X40, UPA-1P, UPA-2P, UPJ-1P y UPM-1P ), eight low frequency control (900-LFC y 750-LFC ) and four MJF‑208 compact stage monitors, with Galileo Galaxy processors 408 y Galileo Galaxy 816 available for signal distribution.
The complete renovation of the audio systems in the theater complex also included the addition of new digital mixing consoles DiGiCo (a SD10-24T and three SD11), a fiber optic signal distribution network Optocore and wireless microphone systems Shure Axient Digital con 16 channels for the main stage and 12, eight and four channels respectively for the smallest stages.
The new audio systems were installed by integration company M. Ostrowski con sede en Wroclaw, with design assistance from Krzysztof Polesinski and logistics coordination from Pawel Daszkiewicz of Polsound.
Named after the prominent poet of the Polish Renaissance, The Jan Kochanowski Theater in Opole has operated under this name and in its current location since 1975, with predecessor organizations dating back to the immediate post-World War II era. It was the first theater in Poland to officially join the European Theater Convention.
