Renkus-Heinz offers maximum sound power to Pomona University

In the main sports venue of this educational center have been installed four sets of speakers of the ICLive X series and another four TA151 of Renkus-Heinz, Each assembly consists of an ICLLX module, two ICLX and two ICLX-118S subwoofers.

Located near the San Gabriel Mountains, Pomona College is a private liberal arts college in Claremont (California). The recreation center of 30 Years of the university no longer responded to the needs of the students, So he embarked on a large-scale project to revitalize and expand the center's offerings.. Due to its high directivity and speech intelligibility, the beam direction matrices of Renkus-Heinz were implemented in the main sports venue, Voelkel Gymnasium.

"Basketball courts and other sports facilities are very challenging acoustic environments.. Orientable and active linear arrangements were used to focus sound only on seating areas to minimize acoustic aberrations of a sports court.", Explains Joseph Brennan, Director of IT Operations, who turned to Darryl Lima, president of DJL , to design the audio system for the gym and support facilities.

Four sets of series speakers ICLive X have been placed in the gym, while four TA151 are used as court fillers.

Each set consists of a module ICLLX, two ICLX and two subwoofers ICLX-118S. Designed from the ground up to be a scalable sound system, the series ICLive X Provides a new level of flexibility for integrators, contractors and production/rental houses and provide the best solution for any application.

ICLive X arrays are equipped with the Acoustic Source Multiplier waveguide (asm) by Renkus-Heinz, that allows the high-frequency section to be mounted coaxially versus the low-frequency section. The result is consistent, symmetrical delivery of high and low frequencies along the entire length of the array for optimal audio reproduction.

Remodeled gym supports 21 NCAA teams and more than 1.800 athletes, more 550 of clubs. The full-range frequency response, the high-power output for music playback and the superior speech intelligibility of Renkus-Heinz speakers have made them the ideal choice for sports venues.
