Peerless-AV IRTO55-HB4the IR Touch Overlay touch coating (IRTO55-XHB4) of Peerless-AV transforms a kiosk Smart City o Xtreme standalone display in an interactive user experience with IR touch coating.

This is specifically designed to extend the functionality of the outdoor display Xtreme High Bright by 55 Inch (XHB554-EUK) and for Smart City Kiosks (KOP55XHB-EUK and KOP5555XHB2-EUK).

This coating optimizes exterior signage by incorporating interaction elements that attract, engage and inspire audiences in high-traffic outdoor areas, as shopping malls, Stadium Esplanades, campus, Industrial estates, Zoos, amusement parks, Bars, Restaurants & Transportation Centers.

“The new IR Touch Overlay for the Xtreme and Smart City Kiosks maintains the high standards of penetration protection and operating temperature recognized in these products with long-lasting performance”, Explains Keith Dutch, General Manager of Peerless-AV EMEA.

Stainless steel chassis ensures long-term performance and low environmental impact. Infrared technology integrated in the coating allows it to respond to ten simultaneous tactile pressures, with a response time of ≤15 ms. Can detect the entry of a bare or gloved finger, a stylus or other devices.

This doesn't just mean high reliability, but allows greater flexibility in content selection. The overlay is powered by a USB adapter cable from 5 V DC of 3 metre, supports HID, so no custom driver software required, and works with multiple operating systems.

The IRTO55-XHB4 has an IP65 degree of protection, Operates at temperatures between -10 and 40 °C and can be installed in portrait or landscape orientation. Overlay powder-coated stainless steel frame sits above the main frame of the standalone Xtreme display.

The product is also supplied with an external ambient light sensor extender accessory (ACCD-ALS) to automatically adjust Xtreme display brightness based on lighting conditions.

ALS extender overrides built-in ambient light sensor, When connected, allowing flexibility for installations where the integrated ALS may have shadows cast by surrounding structures or vegetation.
