Genelec creates the audio environment for the new Bank event space 55

This sauna and meeting room located in Helsinki has fourteen speakers from the series 4000 from the Finnish manufacturer Genelec, customized for this space.

Created by Finnish comedian and actor Finnish Sami Hedberg in what was formerly a bank in the center of Helsinki, and therefore its name, Bank 55 It is a well-known sauna and space dedicated to private events, from conferences and meetings to corporate meetings or parties.

“I had been dreaming of opening an event space for a long time., but I needed to find the right place, and that takes time - explains Hedberg -. I finally found the old bank in Lauttasaari that I loved and have been renovating little by little, "all according to my own design".

Bank 55 It can accommodate up to sixty people at a time on its two floors. In this new space, music plays a fundamental role and Hedberg, who was already familiar with the technology of the Finnish manufacturer Genelec, selected the speakers of the serie 4000, custom painted for your new company.

“I had my own ideas, but Genelec came up with many suggestions because they really liked the space. In fact, It was his idea to paint the speakers gold.. Veo Bank 55 as a very high quality place. It was important to me that the audio solution matched this quality at all levels, both sonically and visually, and that's exactly where Genelec shines, and also that we used a Finnish brand”.

For this project, Hedberg contacted the local specialist Halo radio, whose owner, Niko Tynnilä, share this decision: “Genelec is a natural choice when high-quality sound is required.”: a Finnish brand with an excellent reputation. Our first priority was sound quality y, the second, the ease of use, since we needed to serve a majority of users who can only use the systems once for their special event”.

As a solution, Haloradio opted for a multiplex system Heos by Denon , which allows different areas to be grouped or separated as necessary, “which is extremely flexible and customers can stream from virtually any source they want: pills, mobiles…

Tynnilä also highlights the ease of implementation: “Genelec is an ideal option for installation projects. Thanks to its active design, we don't have to worry about housing or wiring external amplifiers, which saves time, space and even costs. The connectors are designed for this and there are many mounting accessories and 120 RAL colors to choose”.

In total, Haloradio has installed in Bank 55 ten model speakers 4030 de Genelec, mainly in pairs next to the large television screens that the two living rooms on the ground floor and on the second floor have, in which there is a dining space, bar and a wine room for up to fifty people.

Four of the powerful speakers 4040 (a pair on each floor) provide sound reinforcement throughout the space to create a more relaxed atmosphere after the work day is done.

“It's even more than I expected,” says Hedberg.. The space above works perfectly with the space below, the systems work very well with the televisions and we can divide everything exactly how we want. Customers find it easy to operate and, frankly, I am delighted”.
