Audiologic AV technology brings additional revenue to Paignton Zoo
The infrastructure that has provided Audiologic includes different solutions Q-SYS like the Core Nano processor, a TSC-70-G3 controller, two NV-32-H terminals and two NC PTZ cameras.
The charity's conference center Paignton Zoo, that uses equipment Q-SYS y Sennheiser, provides alternative sources of income.
Paignton Zoo is an education and conservation charity with over 2.000 different animals in indoor and outdoor exhibits, based in Devon. Its mission is to conserve species and their habitats, helping save animals in danger, both in the UK and around the world, while inspiring everyone to help in the fight to protect wildlife.
Income is key to continuing your conservation efforts, so Paignton Zoo is constantly looking to diversify, create additional revenue streams and secure sponsorships.
With this in mind, We looked for how to transform a multipurpose space, that was being underused, and convert it into a high-profile conference center, which can also be used to promote educational activities and rented to external parties for meetings and events.
Paignton Zoo contacted integration experts AV-Tec to help with the project. There were a number of key requirements, including the ability to control multiple room configurations while also supporting Byode n multiple platforms, Wireless microphones and remote support for the highest profile events.
“We had worked with AV-Tec before and approached Jarrett Dartnall to help us convert the space into a modern AV facility. We wanted a conference facility, with a large format screen, that could host meetings or training in a variety of room configurations. That would allow multiple hosting platforms like Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, etc. and BYOD functionality, maintaining appropriate data security protocols. All this in a room with some interesting design challenges”, add David Folland, delivery support manager Wild Planet Trust.
“We strive to find the perfect solution for our clients, taking into account the needs analysis, end user capacity, the budget and, of course, reliability. The client's key objectives were a flexible and easy-to-use space. With my previous experience with Q-SYS and Sennheiser, “I knew they would integrate perfectly and provide the reliable solution they were looking for”, duck Jarrett Dartnall, owner of AV-Tec.
Jarrett Dartnall contacted AV distributor, Audiologic, to obtain support and assistance in the design phase for the selection of the equipment that best responded to the needs of the client who had previously worked with Q-SYS and Audiologic.
The equipment selected for this project includes different Q-Sys solutions such as an audio processor, video and control (OF&C) Core Nano, a touch screen controller TSC-70-G3, two video terminals configurable by software NV-32-H and two conference cameras NC PTZ. In addition, It also has surface-mounted column speakers LLC AD-S802T and QSC pendants AD-P4T, as well as receivers, Sennheiser multichannel transmitters and microphones SL MRC SpeechLine and stereo amplifiers Ecler.
Due to the scale of this project, AV-Tec chose to outsource programming and commissioning to Audiologic.
“Paignton Zoo gave us a brilliant opportunity to repurpose this previously unused space into something fit for a modern purpose.”. AV-Tec's high level of documentation and knowledge made project delivery very easy, with a combination of on-site and off-site commissioning”, comments Ben Spurgeon, Audiologic senior technical director.
Av-Tec and Audiologic have created a contemporary audiovisual service, versatile and easy to use, and its design and installation have also provided the surprise factor.
