APG equips the iconic Café de Paris with its coaxial speakers
The French integrator PM Production has chosen the ultra-compact iX series coaxial speakers from APG for the sound system of this iconic French cafe, located on the seafront of Saint-Tropez.
The speaker system APG provides high-quality sound to sophisticated visitors to the French Riviera with a stylish new installation in the iconic Paris cafe from Saint-Tropez, founded in 1930.
This is what he points out Alexandre Pirotte, general manager of local systems integrator PM Production (PMP): “Café de Paris is known for its elegant atmosphere and privileged location, ingredients that attract a distinguished audience from dawn to dusk that comes to taste their coffee, enjoy lunch on the terrace or have an aperitif while watching the movement of Saint-Tropez”.
The objective of the project integrated by PMP was clear to those responsible for this French establishment: Deliver crystal-clear sound of the highest quality to your visitors, that was at the level of this prestigious venue in all its areas.
“Many times it is the DJs themselves who put us in contact with clients, because they know well that the emotions they want to convey always come better with a well-integrated sound system, a homogeneous level and, above all, a well-configured system that is not intrusive - Pirotte emphasizes -. These requirements have been applied to Café de Paris, where multiple sound zones have been enabled to provide a unique soundtrack to the bar area, the space lounge and the outside terrace.
To achieve, PMP has selected the iX Series Indoor Coaxial Speakers from the manufacturer APG, that in addition to offering different finishes, Tailored accessories and ergonomic options for high-end fixed installations, combine coaxial technology with an integral baffle, whose front face has been designed to eliminate diffraction and provide a clear, linear sound field.
For the interior of the Café de Paris, PMP has opted for the model iX5, a compact two-way, full-range miniature speaker that delivers studio monitor-like sound quality, with improved performance and power handling, along with two iS115 subwoofers.
Abroad, a subwoofer iS112 complements two speakers iX8-O of the iX-O series, the outdoor version with IP54 rating the APG, that incorporate a coaxial speaker with passive filter and bass reflex for broadband operation.
“APG is a recognized brand in the sector, but little known by the general public - assures Pirotte -. After the pandemic, We decided to bet on French products, and we choose this manufacturer. Speakers with coaxial drivers have always caught our attention and this manufacturer perfectly meets this criterion.; It is a high-end brand with a more reasonable price than others, and choosing the colors is a great advantage, since technology discretion is usually a common requirement”.
The power of the sound system installed in the Café de Paris comes from the amplifiers Powersoft Quattrocanali, while a matrix Ecler Mimo1212 paired with a touch screen make up the zoning interface. Music can also be streamed through Spotify from any PC.
Rodolphe Portet, commercial and technical engineer at APG, For his part, he highlights “the relationship we have built and developed with PMP over the last two years.”, with very interesting projects both from a technical and human point of view. “This partnership has a bright future and we are delighted to have them among our trusted integrators.”.
