Snap One manages the AV system of a popular New York sports bar
Control4 of Snap One facilitates operation at the Bar-Bill Tavern of the 26 TVs 4K, a video wall 110 inches, 44 speakers located in five audio zones, different Triad amplifiers, a 4K binary media distribution system over IP (MoIP) and surveillance cameras Hikvision.
The Upstate New York Restaurant, Bar-Bill Tavern, offers a good gastronomic offer that is accompanied by a great audiovisual experience. As part of this technological atmosphere, the walls are covered with televisions and sound is also a key element.. Twenty-six 4K televisions, a video wall and 44 Loudspeakers are the components of this infrastructure that is managed by the solution Snap One Control4.
Manage AV equipment in 3.048 square meters inside and 609 outdoors using rudimentary handheld remote controls “was like performing a juggling act, a trick that only the restaurant owner mastered”, explica Leah Shul, account manager at systems integration firm Park Place Installations.
Park Place team first addressed audiovisual issues at Bar-Bill pubs in Clarence and East Aurora (New York) where they combined the control of several televisions and an audio system under the Control4 platform. The staff mastered the operation in a short time, which made the sports watching experience better for guests.
The next and final stop on Park Place's tech upgrade tour was the Bar-Bill location in Rochester. It would be the most extensive update of the three. The owner liked the Control4 solution so much that Park Place would move forward with another similar solution, integrating even more products than they had in previous projects.
“The owner of Bar-Bill was willing to go a little further”, Shul comments.. After pre-wiring and swapping out old TVs for new 4K models from SunBrite y Samsung, and consumer speakers by high-performance alternatives from LAR and Episodw, Park Place began the integration process.
These 26 televisions, in addition to a video wall 110 inches, five audio zones, amplifiers Triad, a system of 4K binary media distribution over IP (MoIP) y Hikivision surveillance cameras, are managed through the Control4 system. Commands issued by staff via three touch panels and data accessed by staff and guests via WiFi travel quickly, reliable and secure through a new network Arachnid wired and wireless.
Bar-Bill works long hours, so there is no time for downtime. Park Place included a surge protector controlled by WattBox IP to mitigate system problems. "Besides, through the Control4 system, The owner and our own audiovisual experts can manage and monitor everything connected to the processor remotely. “It is the additional security that a busy restaurant needs to remain fully operational at all times.”, Shul says..
Protection against human errors was also guaranteed, according to the Park Place plan and the seamless interoperability of the project's numerous Snap One products. “This was huge for the owner., who was still a little skeptical about handing over full control of the AV to his employees, based on past experiences”, explica Shul.
Instead of leaving things to chance, Park Place programmed the Control4 system to activate AV systems automatically every business day. Thence, Staff can visit a Control4 touchscreen to select one of several custom presets.
Through other presets, Users can control specific zones individually, how to choose to play music in the lobby and dining room, while the patio and bar receive game commentary.
This simple and largely hands-off process of environmental management at the three New York-based Bar-Bill taverns has freed up so much time for the owner that he is looking to expand to Florida.
According to Scott Normand, senior commercial market director at Snap One, “Control4 is well positioned for use in a wide variety of commercial applications.”. In recent years, as a result of direct feedback from integrators and partners, we have intended to release software features, as MultiDisplay Manager, to enable more business applications. We continue to develop more improvements for the commercial market and are excited to share new developments in the future”.
