Analog Way responded to the challenges of the Democratic National Convention
For this event, Producer Jason Rudolph used the company's 4K/8K/16K multi-screen presentation system and Aquilon RS6 video wall processor. Analog Way. With this solution he responded to the challenge posed to him: control eight 4K destinations.
What happened on stage Democratic National Convention of 2024 It made headlines all over the world and Analog Way Aquilon RS6 worked optimally behind the scenes to power the huge LED video screens that enhanced the dynamic four-day production.
For its realization, Jason Rudolph worked with executive producer Ricky Kirshner of Kirshner Events, el director Glenn Weiss, production designer Bruce Rodgers Tribe Design and content creators Possible Productions.
Selected Analog Way's Aquilon RS6 to control the displays, since it had previously used systems from this company for the Super Bowl shows and the Oscar broadcast.
The Aquilon RS6 is a 4K/8K/16K multi-screen presentation system y video wall processor. It has 32 4K inputs and 20 4K outputs, a video processing power 4:4:4 of 10/12 real-time bits and pure 4K60p on every input and output with ultra-low latency.
“We were delighted that Jason chose to work with the Analog Way team again on another high-profile event”, explains Jay Gonzalez, president of Analog Way for America. “We're so glad you trust Analog Way to deliver what you need at live events in critical mission seen by viewers around the world”.
For the Democratic National Convention, Rudolph needed to control eight 4K destinations: six streams to giant wall backdrop; a transmission to the larger wings that extend from the wall to the left and right of the stage; and another transmission for exits from the place to the tapes and the central scoreboard.
The content was a mix of server graphics, pre-produced video packages from the truck, IMAG and other external material.
“We were at the limit of input capacity for the Analog Way RS4, that I had used before, so I contacted them and they offered me their newer and larger Aquilon RS6 system”, aclara Rudolph.
Fuse Technical Group provided two RS6 units for the Democratic National Convention, which Rudolph used as a primary and backup system to achieve full redundancy.
“The Analog Way platform offers some unique approaches to getting things done.”, like more flexibility in the way we like to map things, color correction tools that are very good and useful on the input and output sides and being natively all 4K. I also like its low latency and how the system documents the latency of different things you want to do. Other manufacturers never tell you exactly, but with Analog Way you can calculate the latency and you don't have to do the guesswork”, Rudolph adds..
In addition, claims that the RS6 performed perfectly during the four days of the event. “Analog Way support was also very responsive. They gave us very quick answers to all the questions we had about a system we were using for the first time”.
