Plainfield Enhances Performing Arts Facilities with Dynacord and Electro-Voice

In the high school auditorium Plainfield, The new eSports gaming stadium and black box theater has a sound system integrated with EVA speakers installed., EVC and EVID of Electro-Voice, and the C and V series amplifiers Dynacord.

Plainfield (New Jersey) has renovated his high school auditorium, the e-sports gaming stadium and black box theater, installing a new sound system based on the Electro-Voice and Dynacord solutions. PureTek Group has been in charge of this project.

“The auditorium was completely remodeled to serve as a center for school performances, community events and assemblies”, explains Dan Litvin, president of PureTek Group. “We equipped the auditorium, with capacity for 1.525 personas, with Electro-Voice EVA line arrays from left to right to cover the main seating area and EVC speakers to fill the balcony”.

Each EVA linear array consists of three EVA-2082S, two EVA-2082S speaker elements and two EVA-2151D subwoofers.

Each full-range EVA element features two 8” woofers and four 1.25” compression drivers mounted in two Hydra plane wave generators. Different coverage patterns are available for precise configuration. Extraordinarily efficient EVA crossover and motor design minimizes power and DSP requirements, offering significant cost and system space savings. EVA hidden internal rigging design contributes to its sleek appearance and, at the same time, makes them easy to install.

The seating area under the balcony is covered by eight compact speakers EVC-1122. They take up little space and offer exceptional performance in all situations, making them suitable for filling applications.

The EVCs are mounted along the edge of the balcony with EVC-UB2 supports negros, which contributes to its discreet appearance. The auditorium system is powered by seven Dynacord DSP amplifiers: three C3600FDi and four C2800FDi.

Black Box Theater is a new addition to Plainfield High School's fine arts program. The PureTek team wall-mounted two EVC-1122 speakers to the right and left of the stage for wide coverage. A Dynacord C1300FDi amplifier powers the system.

The space, that existed before the renovation, now equipped for dramatic arts education, professional development, experimental theater or for use as a smaller performance space.

“When we started the project, “The black box movie theater had no technology.”, Litvin adds.. "Now, It is a room with unlimited possibilities for the fine arts program, the school district and the community. “EVC speakers are an integral part of the success of the room”.

The latest addition to the fine arts program has been the creation of an e-sports stadium. Since the beginning of the decade of 2000, electronic sports (eSports) have become a competitive gaming platform that allows students to compete against other high schools through a streaming platform.

The new e-sports stadium is equipped with three EVID-P6.2 hanging ceiling speakers y subwoofers compactos EVID-S12.1 fed by a Dynacord V600 amplifier:4.

Puretek has also created a network that broadcasts the competitions from the eSports stadium to a giant screen in the auditorium, allowing fans of these games to see them in a larger space. Microphones strategically placed in the auditorium record the crowd's cheers, which are played live in the stadium through the hanging speakers, which further energizes the atmosphere in that space.
