XDC and Lumileds develop MicroIC-powered MicroLed display

The high performance of Led assembly and integrated microcircuits of the MicroLed display developed by X Display Company (XDC) y Lumileds has resulted in this prototype being ready for series production.

The developer of semiconductor devices for displays XDC and the technological Lumileds have combined knowledge to develop an advanced microLED display prototype powered by microIC of 140 pixels per inch (ppi).

This screen technology, the first of its kind, marks an important milestone for MicroLed displays in smart devices, with a focus more flexible and energy efficient for display motherboard architecture.

This new screen takes advantage of a system of cluster control combined with MicroLed, of only 13×20 µm², which results in a maximum brightness 2.360 cd/m² to deliver an optimal viewing experience in clarity, color and contrast.

Both microICs and microLeds are manufactured using state-of-the-art production equipment that ensures uniformity and benchmark rates of return in the industry, who are ready for screen mass manufacturing.

Specifically, The mass transfer process used in the development of these prototypes achieves a microLed subpixel performance of 99,9998% and microIC transfer performance of 99,992%.
