Extron deploys AV technology at renovated Mt. Stadium. SAC

The XTP system Extron provides audiovisual distribution in all spaces of this sports complex, as well as the digital signage screens and the Led video wall that is used as a scoreboard.

Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC), in southern california, It is the largest university school on the west coast of the United States. To improve athletics programs, the center has built a new sports complex, of some 5.574 m² adjacent to its historic Hilmer Lodge Stadium, which has also been renewed.

The AV system for this sports complex had to meet the structural and technological requirements to support the football sports programs, athletics and cross country, taking into account that it could not impact the integrity of Hilmer Stadium or the legendary Mt.. SAC, that begins and ends within it.

Plus stadium improvements and more learning spaces, the project required modern technology in all expanded facilities, from the new ticket offices and a larger shopping area, broadcast and meeting rooms, press and VIP, weight training and fitness centers, training areas, offices and a digital signage system throughout the complex.

The requirements included interconnected rooms and support for numerous display equipment, included the videowall Led, 25mx11.2 meters, used as a scoreboard in competitions and for presentations.

The technology of Extron, with the XTP system, was selected by those responsible for the center to provide the audiovisual distribution throughout the complex deportivo.

Each of the four XTP II Modular Matrix Switches of CrossPoint is equipped with combinations of XTP CP input and output cards, configured to facilitate local and remote extension of HDMI AV signals, 12G-SDI, as well as audio and insertion control RS-232.

For local devices, HDMI I/O cards support 4K/60 HDMI signals and stereo audio, while 12G-SDI facilitates SDI transmissions.

Rack-mounted XTP II CrossPoint matrix switch in technical booth supports stadium video wall system, the rooms and digital signage on this level, as well as the screens of the AV-enabled indoor and outdoor event spaces on the third level.

Two inputs connected to the video wall processor send the content to this stadium LED scoreboard. To select from all camera images and other sources, An operator at any of the six workstations in the technical cabin uses the TouchLink Pro touch panels from Extron that have installed, managed through the IP Link Pro control processor from the manufacturer.

Installation of Extron XTP systems enables the stadium to meet today's standards for athletic training and competitive excellence, as well as providing premium broadcast capabilities to Mt. Hilmer Lodge's historic stadium.. SAC.
