Martin Lighting recreates moonlight for Mandai Wildlife night safari

The new 'Pangolin Trail' attraction on this Singapore night safari features twenty-seven luminaires from the Exterior Wash family of Martin Lighting to create an environment of lights and shadows so as not to interfere with the activity of nocturnal animals.

A journey that has been enhanced with the architectural luminaires of Martin Lighting, designed and installed by lighting consultants Light Collab.

The design brief called for a seamless integration of light and dark to imitate the effect of moonlight, creating a light and shadow environment in which nocturnal animals felt at ease and, at the same time, active and visible to visitors.

Light Collab worked closely with the Martin Lighting APAC team to install a carefully selected lighting system, in which twenty-seven luminaires of the family are used Exterior Wash from this manufacturer.

Among other challenges of the project, The designers investigated how to customize the colors of the luminaires so that they harmonized with the natural environment, in addition to ensure its durability against possible vandalism by curious animals, like monkeys. The team successfully integrated the lighting controls with other luminaires to achieve the desired effects of Light Collab.

The lighting design of The pangolin trail brings together several innovative features to create a unique experience. Inspired by the natural light of the moon, the exhibitions are bathed in specific color temperatures that simulate a soft natural glow, encouraging nocturnal animals to show their behaviors.

Los Preset lighting control systems create dynamic scenes that encourage movement and interaction between species. The protected walkway also has high spectrum RGBW spotlights color rendering and anti-glare, which guarantees a minimal light interference and an optimal visual experience for visitors.

In the development of this attraction, special attention has also been paid to the mixing of colors to reduce the multicolored shadows of the RGBW spotlights and enhance the natural appearance of the exhibits that make up the tour..
