Duke Law School Enhances Learning with Extron NAV AVoIP
Audiovisual solutions, distribution and control Extron have been installed in three conference spaces of this American university and in its mock trial room, with NAV Pro AVoIP as the core of the entire system.
Internationally recognized for its teaching staff and innovative study plans, the Duke Law School, located in North Carolina (EU), offers interdisciplinary training and learning in a collaborative environment.
To support those interactions between teachers and students, Audiovisual learning systems in campus teaching spaces are essential, whose deployment has been carried out with the Extron technology, backed by their switching systems, AV distribution and control.
Duke Law has updated its equipment with the latest solutions from this manufacturer, including NAV Pro AV over IP, which has resulted in an immediate increase in system reliability and productivity on campus.
Extron NAV Pro routes content to multiple faculty classrooms, leveraging the power of its AV over IP technology to provide greater flexibility and scalability than the old point-to-point configuration.
Faculty technical staff can easily access the audiovisual control systeml securely from your office, from home or anywhere with Internet access to perform remote maintenance and support users.
“We know Extron has a reputation for trouble-free installation and reliable operation. When Context Systems NAV Pro AV over IP was recommended to us, We said yes and we are more than happy. It has been the easiest installation that I have experienced - he states Miguel Bordo, director of educational technology consulting at Duke University School of Law-. Compared to legacy AV system, AVoIP topology requires fewer components, but it offers more capacity and easier scalability”.
Las three conference rooms and the mock trial room share a common audiovisual system design. Las PTZ cameras, guest laptops, los Blu-ray players and Apple TV are fed from the AV over IP network through NAV encoders.
These spaces have projectors and flat screens, powered from the AV over IP network by NAV upscaling decoders, that also send audiovisual content to the business platform Panopto from Duke to record and share conference videos.
A climbing bridge MediaPort 200 connects a conference PC with a UC codec to the AV over IP network for video conferencing. The rooms are equipped with TouchLink Pro touch panels 12” desktop and with IPCP Pro xi control processors that allow users to manage the functions of the audiovisual system, as well as the lighting of the room.
Duke Law School has been creating in-house audiovisual media since the 1990s. 1990 and has a sophisticated infrastructure to produce, disseminate and archive these media. “This renovation of classrooms and hearing rooms is part of our ongoing initiative to keep the audiovisual infrastructure updated and reliable”, point out from this academic entity.
