Powersoft Unica fills the Amsterdam RAI with sound and efficiency
As part of the technological renovation of this exhibition centre in the Netherlands, a new audio amplification system has been installed, based on the Unica cloud platform of Powersoft, that provides greater sound quality and efficiency, with lower energy consumption and operating costs.
The local integrator Van Brienen AV has installed eight systems Powersoft Unica in the Amsterdam RAI. This Cloud-based amplification platform has transformed the audio system, now of higher quality, Reliability and efficiency, of this exhibition site, conferences and events in the capital of Holland.
As the former main venue of the fair Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), and now of IBC, This venue has brought together professionals from the AV and systems integration industry for more than a decade. With 123 Years of history, This international meeting center has inspired industry professionals, and so it continues to do so, organizing and facilitating conferences and exhibitions.
With this successful track record and to maintain its reputation, The venue has Renewed audio system to deliver the best sound quality to your visitors. That is why, has replaced your old amplifiers, already deteriorated and that caused operational failures in the line array system of the enclosure.
Local integrator Van Brienen AV, coach-led Mike Weijers, specified Powersoft's Unica amplifier platform for the project because of its performance, Efficiency and reliability, in a compact form factor. One of the main challenges of the project was replace the old system with minimal disruption.
"The existing configuration required two full racks of equipment, but Powersoft Unica condensed all the Half-rack configuration -explains Jeroen van Brienen, owner of Van Brienen AV-. This drastically reduced space without compromising power output".
The new system consists of six four-channel amplifiers Unica 5K4 and two Unica 9K4, powering eight Line Array speakers Electro-Voice XLD281, eight XLE181 and four X1i-212/90, Two Line Array Subwoofers XSub-F and four Xi-1082.
These amplifiers, Integrated with the software HarmonyPlus by Powersoft, allow the Remote configuration, real-time monitoring and DSP tuning of the system, with preset configurations, helping to optimize speaker performance without the need for external processing.
Thanks to this and the network monitoring capabilities of this system, the technical team of the Amsterdam RAI can monitor the performance of the amplifiers remotely.
This is what Van Brienen points out: "when installing Unica amplifiers, We no longer needed external processors, since All signal management is done directly within the equipment itself. The system receives five outputs from the venue's control room, that are distributed through the Dante Network to the eight Powersoft Unica installed, ensuring accurate and seamless audio routing".
Time has been another critical factor in carrying out the installation. "They asked us if it was possible to modernize the audio system, and it takes us four weeks from initial request to delivery, despite the holiday period. The team made sure to Simplify the installation process, minimizing the inactivity of the venue", assures this person in charge.
A key element to achieve this, Van Brienen adds, were "the DSP capabilities of the Unica amplifiers, that allowed our team to easily adjust the processing of Electro-Voice's line array speakers.".
Powersoft's choice of amplification technology has been clear from the beginning, "We trust them for this project without even considering alternative brands," he stresses. The company's reputation for delivering Efficient and high-quality solutions they made it the natural choice, for which we cooperate with Mennegat, your distributor in the Netherlands".
Beyond the Audio Performance, Powersoft Unica also provides this enclosure with a Operational cost savings, with a Lower power consumption and more space thanks to its compact form factor.
