Temporary and reusable

Among other requirements, the immersive room had to be temporary, since it has been installed in a building intended to be remodeled in the future. Besides, the equipment used in it had to be versatile to reuse in new projects futures, in addition to ride in record time and based on a cost control established.

Four pieces of equipment are used for the immersive room. ultracompact model Sony VPL-PHZ51 from Sony, with a shine of 5.300 lumens (until 5.800 center lumens), integrated with the software Vioso Player 6.

Installation allows you to create a single image, divided between three screens, with a total resolution of 5,140×1.200 pixels. The screen, of 11,17 meters long, divides into three connected planes to form a faceted surface.

To achieve perfect image quality, techniques such as edge blending in the central projectors and hard blending on the side teams. Besides, the entire system has been installed in less than a month for this exhibition, transforming a store basement into a fully functional space from scratch.

Visual impact and sustainability

The immersive room, that can be visited until next time 25 April, has not only met the expectations of the exhibitionPortimão 2034, but it has also been carried out with a controlled budget.

The installed technological solution guarantees the sustainability commitment what was requested, thanks to the possibility of reusing the equipment for future applications, such as the creation of another immersive room in the city museum.

This is what he points out Pedro Pereira, partner and CEO of Villages: “Our biggest challenge was to build this solution in the shortest time possible.”, less than a month. The space where it was installed was the basement of a store, so everything had to be planned and built from scratch. That's why we could only resort to technologies with which we are familiar, like Sony projectors and the Vioso player”.
