When developing the sound concept of the venue, SHU owners contacted Audio Solvation, certified L-Acoustics partner, through the producer Air Light Holland, with a specific challenge: offer sophisticated audio that will transform the space every night, respecting the urban location, which includes residential apartments just above the premises. After having successfully implemented L-Acoustics systems in its other establishments, The owners knew this technology could be the perfect solution for SHU's unique needs..

“The professional sound system acts as the main transition element that transforms the space from a cocktail bar to a nightclub atmosphere”, explains Tom Dohmen, Audio Solvation Technical Sales Director. “We needed to generate impact and emotion, respecting the urban environment”.

Using Soundvision from L-Acoustics, Audio Solvation has created detailed projections to demonstrate the proposed design and system impact prior to installation. This visualization has helped SHU owners understand how sound would behave in their setup space, including a lounge entrance area, a central bar and a VIP section.

The system implemented includes a series of L-Acoustics X series components strategically located throughout the premises. Cinco 5XT compact coaxial speakers cover the entrance hall, while the central area of ​​the bar has four X8i paired with subwoofers SB15m for better presence in low frequencies. The VIP area has dedicated coverage through two additional X8i speakers. DJ monitoring is done through a 5XT speaker. The entire system is powered by two LA4X amplified controllers and one LA2Xi.

After installation, Audio Solvation carried out acoustic measurements both inside the premises and in the upper residential apartments, adjusting the system to minimize the acoustic impact on neighbors and maintain the desired atmosphere. During special events like the Amsterdam Dance Event, one of the most important electronic music festivals in the world, SHU fully participates in the city-wide celebration, adjusting the acoustics to accommodate international DJs who require the full potential of the system.
