Christie's screening reinforces public connection to music and art
Picadeiro Open Sounds and Yard Festival in Portugal offered digital art experiences and musical performances using laser projectors Christie M 4K25 RGB y M 4K15 RGB.
Christie RGB pure laser projectors have brought to life two of Portugal's most vibrant cultural events –Picadeiro Open Sounds in Fundão and Yard Festival in Setúbal and Palmela– with impressive projections that enriched both the musical performances and the digital art installations.
The audiovisual production company ADLC Audiovisuals used equipment Christie M 4K25 RGB y M 4K15 RGB to offer large format projections that energized each scenario.
Open Sounds Picadeiro, celebrated in the historic Palácio do Picadeiro in Alpedrinha (Fundão), combined electronic music and digital art in a two-day outdoor celebration. The enclosure, a former royal riding school, was transformed into a dynamic space where music, light and architecture came together.
The festival presented a multidisciplinary program that included audiovisual performances, exhibitions, virtual and augmented reality facilities, video game zones, talks and a Music Lab.
A Christie M 4K25 RGB projector illuminated the façade and architecture of the venue, accompanying the live visuals of the artists Nuno Pereira, Carlotta Premazzi, Daniel Shirt (VJ Dataset) y Mechanical Astronaut.
“The Christie M 4K25 RGB gave us the power, the brightness and clarity we needed to bring artists' visuals to life, even in complex architectural environments,” points out José Cordeiro, director of ADLC Audiovisuals. “Its rich color reproduction and compact design made it the ideal option for a space like Picadeiro.”.
For your part, Yard Festival was a four-day celebration of electronic music and art that took place on two stages: the Albarquel Fort in Palmela and the hills of Areia Branca in Quinta do Anjo. With natural landscapes and historical environments as a backdrop, The festival brought together international and local electronic music artists, and was complemented with wellness activities and regional gastronomy.
A Christie M 4K25 RGB illuminated a sphere suspended in the landscape of Areia Branca, while a Christie M 4K15 RGB projected striking visuals on the façade of the 17th century fortress in Palmela.
“Each place presented its own challenges, from projecting on a structure suspended in the air to mapping on a century-old stone facade,” explains Cordeiro. “Christie RGB projectors gave us the versatility and performance we needed to adapt quickly and deliver stunning visual results.”. “These festivals show how screening can strengthen audiences’ connection to music and art.”
Both projectors used by ADLC Audiovisuais are part of the Christie M 4K RGB series, offering 4K UHD resolution, realistic colors and even 25.000 lumens in a compact and robust design.
With TruLife+ electronics and a wide color gamut that approaches Rec. 2020, M Series 4K RGB projectors are designed for demanding environments where reliability and visual impact are critical. They are omnidirectional capability, he warping y blending Integrated features and quiet operation make them especially suitable for creative staging of outdoor events and screenings..
“What makes Christie RGB pure laser projectors unique is their ability to wow audiences time and time again.”. The color, the shine, uniformity... everything combines to create moments that people do not forget. Whether at a music festival or a mapping show, the experience feels bigger, more alive and more immersive than any other technology we have used,” concludes José Cordeiro.
