Disguise offers immersive solution for MGM's Fantasy Box

To bring the Fantasy Box to life, MGM has been associated with Disguise to create an experience integrated by seven GX servers 3 and ten RX III nodes, which are part of the technological system that has as its central element a three-sided Led screen that rises to seven meters high.

Located in the five-star resort MGM Macau, the 'Fantasy Box' (Fantasy Box) redefines the concept of cultural space. More than just an event venue, this enclosure 1.400 square meters has been designed to reflect the vision for boosting Macau's art scene, while connecting Chinese and international cultural experiences.

The central element of the enclosure is a Three-sided Led display which rises to seven meters high. This flexible environment allows the space to effortlessly adapt to different functions, from art exhibitions and brand activations to corporate events, weddings and concerts.

To bring Fantasy Box to life, MGM has teamed up again with Disguise. After eight years of collaboration at the MGM Cotai Theater and the Cotai Spectacle, This project required more than technical infrastructure.

From the beginning, MGM turned to Disguise Creative Services to define artistic vision, develop the content and provide a set of tools that would allow the space to be as adaptable as it was ambitious. In parallel, Disguise Technical Services team installed and commissioned the system, with seven GX servers 3 and ten RX III nodes that power the immersive Led canvas of 270 degrees.

A creative AV space

MGM wanted the Fantasy Box to be a technological space, capable of hosting everything from corporate conferences to cutting-edge digital art exhibitions. But while the vision was clear, the creative direction was not yet defined.

Disguise Creative Services had to ensure that each environment created immersed the audience completely and credibly., while making the content system easy to manage internally.

Ten customizable environments

The process began with a visit to Disguise's Los Angeles office along with the systems integrators Smart Monkeys. From there, The project was developed through close collaboration between the creative and technical teams at Disguise, ensuring that each decision responded to both artistic and operational needs.

From the beginning, Disguise Creative Services participated, not just as content creators, but also as consultants. Through a comprehensive conceptual phase, the team worked closely with MGM to define the aesthetic, the atmosphere and functionality of the space.

The result was a collection of ten customizable environments designed to evolve over time..

Created with Unreal Engine y Notch, The collection ranges from an audio-responsive nightclub and elegant corporate sets to a futuristic cityscape and a spectacular curtain raiser..

Each environment has been designed to transport visitors to a different atmosphere, which gave MGM the flexibility to transform Fantasy Box into a wedding space, a conference stage or a cultural showcase at the touch of a button.

Each scene has been created as a set of tools, not like a still video. Thanks to parameters such as color, the speed, the logo and time of day, MGM's internal team has been able to adapt and reuse the same style on multiple occasions, keeping content up to date without needing to redesign it.

On the technical side, seven have been installed Disguise GX servers 3 and ten nodes RX III as the backbone of the system. Disguise technical team collaborated with Smart Monkeys, entertainment control solutions specialists, to supervise the installation, testing and commissioning, ensuring compatibility with other MGM venues that use Disguise to facilitate their operation and comply with cybersecurity regulations.

Smart Monkeys ha integrado, besides, and intuitive control of the shows, allowing MGM staff to adjust or activate visual effects in real time without the need to re-render or reprogram.

This collaboration between creative consulting, technical infrastructure and intuitive control have made Fantasy Box a cutting-edge and highly usable solution.
