Sony and Ameria develop comprehensive immersive display system
The collaboration between Sony y Ameria materializes in one of the first comprehensive gesture-controlled 3D immersive visualization solutions, especially beneficial for retail, business and education.
The new partnership between Sony Professional Displays & Solutions y Ameria combines renowned technology Spatial Reality Display (SRD) from the first with the recently presented StarKit of the second.
It is a intuitive solution without latency and designed specifically to take advantage of the full potential of the immersive visualization on Sony's Spatial Reality Display, innovative display equipment 3D without glasses offering ultra-realistic images for any professional environment.
This combined technological proposal will be presented publicly in WHEREAS 2026, of the 3 al 6 February in Barcelona, for the European market, which will be the first time the entire workflow is shown as a unified system.
Designed around three key components (gesture control, hardware and a modular software platform easy to use, an intuitive application 3D space signage and a complementary solution content management), Ameria StarKit allows users to charge, organize and present existing 3D assets in minutes.
The system integrates of sensors Intel RealSense, located in a specially designed support which aligns perfectly with the Sony SRD, which allows a ready to use installation. These devices follow the hand movement in real time and allow users Interact with 3D content without touching the screen, creating an intuitive and engaging experience, especially indicated for customer service environments.
By combining Ameria's engagement technology and content software platform, Sony will be able to offer for the first time worldwide a 3D interactive signage system complete and ready to use, based on the SRD from the Japanese company.
In addition to the high visual quality and glasses-free 3D experience that the Sony Spatial Reality Display is known for, This collaboration introduces new use cases for interactive signage in retail environments, corporate and educational.
Sony and Ameria also plan expand into markets where 3D data are already widely used or highly desirable, like the health, the architecture, planning, design and engineering. Ameria's StarKit addresses this challenge, offering a continuous workflow and ready to use that allows customers to implement immersive 3D experiences without the need for specialized development knowledge.
The system also offers industry-leading precision in gesture control. Whether by clicking with a finger movement, pinching with thumb and index finger or rotating objects in 3D space, everything is easy and intuitive to use for users.
Both companies face a growing demand for immersive solutions, interactive and focused on retail ROI, museums and corporate showrooms, without losing sight of sustainability objectives.
One of the advantages of immersive 3D displays in retail is the significant reduction in physical product samples.. With the Sony SRD and Ameria StarKit, establishments can present full ranges of products, including colors, materials and configurations, virtually, without the need to manufacture or transport multiple variants, reducing inventory requirements, reduces transport and storage emissions, and helps minimize waste from unused or obsolete samples.
This approach favors a more efficient management of the life cycle of product lines, while enabling richer in-store experiences. All of this directly complements the environmental program Road to Zero from Sony, whose objective is to achieve a zero environmental footprint for 2050 by reducing resource consumption, reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting more sustainable customer ecosystems.
“As brands seek richer customer experiences and greater operational efficiency, “This collaboration offers a truly unique proposition.”, states Rik Willemse, director de Professional Displays & Solutions de Sony Europe.
The Spatial Reality Display “is already a benchmark in terms of 3D without high-quality glasses,” Willemse emphasizes.. Combined with Ameria's gesture control and content management capabilities, “It opens the door to real-world applications that previously required complex and custom configurations.”.
All this “makes Ameria a strategic partner for Sony Professional Displays & Solutions and for the future development of our products. We are confident that together we can launch a revolutionary product that will transform the way we work and interact in 3D., as well as the way we present the products, while making the process more efficient, effective and sustainable”, Willemse concludes.
The package will be offered through a selective distribution throughout Europe, and units are expected to be available from ISE 2026. Ameria StarKit e.g compatible with SRD ELF-SR2 model. Besides, will be included as standard three-year hardware warranty from Sony and Ameria, y software license for content management applications of the latter will be available for years.
“Our work with Sony represents a big step forward in making immersive 3D experiences part of everyday customer interaction.” –states Albrecht Metter, Ameria CEO-. By combining the precision of the Spatial Reality Display with our StarKit, We offer retailers and brands a whole new way to bring products to life, intuitively, interactive and barrier-free.
As this manager reveals, “we are working on application scenarios with our first clients, and interest is high due to the ease of implementation of StarKit, the first are already planned for the first quarter of 2026. “Together we offer a revolutionary plug-and-play solution that makes it easy to use 3D in any environment”.
ISE visitors 2026 you will be able to experience the complete system in the Sony 3E300 stand, including live demonstrations gesture-controlled 3D products, interactive signage scenarios and real-time content management workflows.
