Optimax3 (Optimus) shields Adif's public address system and critical communications
The Neural Center of Valdebebas (Adif) benefits from the modular architecture of the Optimax3 system Optimus to manage public address and critical communication in hundreds of railway stations: from large terminals to small stops.
Adif manages a park of stations of enormous diversity that requires local autonomy without sacrificing centralized supervision. The architecture of Optimax3 from Optimus articulates this complexity by allowing a cascade management at three levels: global control in Valdebebas, supervision in six territorial subcenters and individual operation in each station.
This structure allows, even in the face of an eventual loss of global connectivity, each node maintains its local functionality, ensuring continuity of service and passenger safety at all times. From the Optimus Project Management Department in Madrid, highlight the importance of this architecture: “What we were looking for from the project management was a solid and resistant solution. Con Optimax3, each station has its own intelligence; The robustness of the system gives us the peace of mind that, whatever happens on the global network, “Local autonomy is protected and the station will never be left unprotected.”.
At the heart of the platform is the digital matrix UMX-03. With redundant connection to IP, simultaneously manages four incoming and outgoing IP audio channels, maintaining an internal bus 16 channels for local processing. Its design contemplates the direct integration with fire alarm systems using three supervised input contacts and failsafe relay outputs. Your internal memory 32 GB Ensures availability of critical messages even in the event of network failures, while its CAN bus allows the connection of microphone desks and noise probes with continuous supervision.
Its versatility extends to different use cases through different interfaces. For those installations where it is necessary to take advantage existing analog stages or distribute audio to remote points, las interfaces IF-822ETH e IF-804ETH transform conventional systems into IP nodes with internal storage of 16 GB. On the other hand, when the project requires distributed power, the unit IF-8P4ETH integrates IP control with up to four class D amplifiers (of 60 a 460 W). Its hot swappability (hot swapping) allows you to perform maintenance work without interrupting the railway service, an essential feature in high availability infrastructures.
“Our vision in R&D has always been to anticipate the challenges of critical infrastructure. Optimax3 has been conceived from its origin to align with the EN regulations 54, already integrating supervisory functions, redundancy and emergency management necessary. Everything is prepared so that compliance with this standard is the next natural step in the evolution of a system that is already the benchmark in railway safety and that is designed for a long-term and scalable life cycle.”, is concluded from Optimus.
