the same light, inside and outside the theater: the ITA jump with ETC Eos Apex
He International Theater Amsterdam (ITA), one of the leading theaters and touring companies in the Netherlands, debuts its new Eos Apex lighting control system from ETC with his new show 'Giovanni's Room', currently on European tour.
Although he ITA evaluated multiple lighting control solutions taking into account factors such as performance, flexibility and reliability, the team led by the lighting coordinator Wannes Klop ended up opting for the solution of ETC for its “color engine”, its high-quality construction and precise control”, that adapted both to the requirements of the venue and to the needs of their tours.
New products installed include Eos Apex 5, two consoles Apex FP, two controls Ion XE 20, Programming Wing, ETC Puck, Fader Wings and luminaires Source Four LED Serie 2, in combination with a fully integrated infrastructure containing ETC Response Gateways and a regulatory system Sensor3 ThruPower, giving the team complete control over color, intensity and signals throughout the venue and on international tours.
The system has already been tested in the field on the tour of its latest assembly, Giovanni’s Room. Wouters Pieters, company lighting engineer, shows his satisfaction with the performance of the ETC Eos Apex: “The system allows very precise operation, which is exactly what we needed at ITA. The hardware, in particular the encoders, It's incredibly useful.: now we can use 14 encoders where before we had far fewer. Con ETC, “You have everything you need in one console.”.
From the manufacturer's perspective, Robbie Nassi, deputy regional director, is shown “enchanted” that the International Theater Amsterdam has opted for ETC solutions: “Our goal is always to provide tools that give lighting designers and technicians the creative freedom they need.”, while ensuring reliability and consistency in the theater. The ITA team has made excellent use of the Apex system to bring their productions to life”.
