Royer Labs begins a new stage after its acquisition by Sounds Great Holdings
Sounds Great Holdings adquiere Royer Labs, a reference manufacturer of ribbon microphones (ribbon) used in recording, broadcast, live sound and film production,
The operation will mark a new stage of growth, while preserving the sound quality and craftsmanship that have long defined the Californian brand.. Founded in 1998, Royer Labs contributed to the revival of modern ribbon microphones with its popular model R-121 (now a widely used industry standard) along with pioneering tube and phantom-powered ribbon microphone designs. The company was awarded a Technical Grammy Award for its contributions to modern recording.
Royer Labs will continue to operate from its Burbank headquarters, California, with plans to expand global sales, invest in product development and strengthen relationships with the pro audio community.
Joe Covey, the new CEO of the company, states that “Royer Labs has built an extraordinary reputation for sonic excellence and engineering integrity. Our goal is to honor that legacy while investing in cutting-edge technology and expanding the brand globally.”.
John Jennings, co-founder and former president, expresses his confidence in the transition stating that “I love this company that we founded decades ago., to the dedicated people who work here and the sector we serve. Dave Hetrick has joined Royer Labs as president and chief revenue officer, where you will direct the global sales strategy. “Royer microphones are among the most respected tools in professional audio», Hetrick stated.. «We see a significant opportunity to grow the brand around the world”.
