BVK optimizes its videoconferences with TRS and VITEC

The Belgrade Water and Sewer Company (BVK), one of the main public service providers in Serbia, reinforces its internal communication capabilities by modernizing its videoconferencing infrastructure through a strategic alliance with TRS y VITEC.

Faced with the challenges of outdated technology and the growing demand for smooth, high-quality audio and video experiences, BVK sought a future-proof solution to improve both in-person and remote participation at its conference events.. The result is a advanced IPTV system that optimizes operational processes, improves user experience and strengthens internal communications.

With a large conference room at its headquarters and a network of treatment facilities, pumping stations and offices, BVK regularly hosts meetings and events that require reliable, high-quality audio and video distribution.. The organization is committed to modernizing its infrastructure and improving operational efficiency, ensuring that both in-person and remote participants can benefit from seamless access to live and recorded content.

Before update, BVK's conference room depended on a bespoke AV control and video distribution system that was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. The video distribution component, which was once state-of-the-art, had become complex and unsustainable as technology advanced. Technical personnel were required at each event, and the age of the equipment meant that spare parts and software support were no longer available. The BVK needed a solution that simplifies room control, will improve the audiovisual experience, allow live streaming to remote offices and allow recording and playback of lectures on the BVK's private YouTube channel. The organization also wanted to create an interactive information portal and ensure the new system was scalable and future-proof..

The solution

TRS, a leading audiovisual integrator in the Balkan region, designed and supplied a comprehensive IPTV solution based on Avedia platform and the pasarela ChannelLink by VITEC. This system allows BVK to capture, Seamlessly manage and distribute live and on-demand video content across multiple installations.

Recorded live streams are uploaded directly to the BVK YouTube channel, giving users the opportunity to review content at their leisure in a centralized location. Several VITEC media players were installed in the main facilities and in three remote offices, allowing directors and management to view live presentations without having to travel. It was chosen professional PTZ camera Avonic CM93-IP for its high image quality and future-proof capabilities, since it supports a resolution of up to 4K60 (set to Full HD for optimal performance).

The system operates through the dedicated fiber network at BVK, which guarantees a greater reliability, low latency and greater security. TRS also integrated Samsung, Barco streaming solutions and adapted the existing audio system for full compatibility. To train BVK engineering staff, TRS conducted on-site technical training and provided extensive documentation, which allowed the internal team to manage and operate the system independently.

The implementation of the VITEC IPTV solution and associated upgrades have transformed the conference experience at BVK. Participants now benefit from a better audio and video quality, with greater comfort even in the most remote areas of the room. Managers can attend live conferences from other buildings or watch replays on demand, while maintenance and support have been simplified thanks to remote management capabilities.

Besides, the intuitive user interface facilitates handling for personnel without technical knowledge, and remote management simplifies maintenance and troubleshooting.
