The virtual simulator neonatal intubation, developed by the Alcalá Innova Foundation with Spanish researchers, represents a breakthrough as a training tool and training for pediatric specialists.
Alcalá Innova Foundation with Spanish researchers pediatrics environment has developed the first virtual simulator intubation for infants between one and three kilos. An innovative tool that will allow professionals pediatric experience real situations and acquire knowledge.
This virtual simulator for neonates is a breakthrough in the field of training and to simulate real but without the risk of doing it with a real baby situations.
The system consists of a mannequin in real size and a laryngoscope that allow the specialist simulate situations that occur daily in hospitals. It also includes a sensor system that traquean dummy position and movements that can perform specialist with laryngoscope and endotracheal tube.
The information generated is processed by the simulator to recreate after the process of intubation on a virtual stage. Thus, the specialist can train on different ways of acting in each case and gain knowledge and experience without risking any newborn.
This solution has developed the Alcalá Innova Foundation with professionals in the field of pediatrics it will be presented at the 27th Congress of the International Pediatric Association, held between 24 and 29 August in Melbourne (Australia). For its realization it has received funding from the Ministry of Health.
