Home Box Office (HBO), the popular North American payment service, has opted for a Miranda Kaleido-X multi-display system for its new HD studio in New York. From these new facilities, in addition to recording programs, editing is carried out, graphics, color correction, dubbing and cross conversion of all types of productions. Two Kaleido-X are being used to power the dozen screens spread throughout the facility, with large format monitors in video production and control, lighting and sound. This multiviewer system also allows you to send signals to other areas within the studio., including the set itself or the editing rooms. This system is also connected to the main HBO matrix, a Jupiter, thus helping to simplify day-to-day changes in signal routing crossing points. Each video window generated by the Kaleido-X has multiple UMD source and destination labels showing the source source at any given destination, as well as the destination for any signal. This helps operators easily locate available devices throughout the facility., avoiding routing signals to and from devices already in use. The solution installed at HBO uses many of the alarm capabilities of the Kaleido-X, including video loss, peaks in audio, and changing video format. This multiscreen automatically displays the video in the correct format, regardless of the type of signal that has reached the mixer.
XEdit XEdit configuration software simplifies creating layouts for different programs produced depending on the number of sources or cameras being used. It also offers great flexibility due to its fast drag and drop.’ with automatic resizing and alignment tools for easy optimization of screen space. Miranda offers two frames with up to 96 tickets and 8 multi-screen outputs (7RU), or with up to 32 tickets and 4 Departures (4RU). Its automatic metadata extraction and alarm capacity, make Kaleido-X a system that is also ideal as master control and headend environments, can be integrated with matrices to offer a versatile and powerful solution in 3Gbps/HD/SD and stereoscopy.
