The new audio solution elevates the sound experience to an incredible level of hearing acuity in an immersive environment thanks to 4K projectors and large format screens.

Barco is set to enhance the projection experience with 4K DLP Cinema projectors along with an innovative fully immersive audio platform designed exclusively for cinema. Thanks to Auro-3D multichannel technology, The Belgian company intends to take a step beyond 5.1 and establish sound in the rooms 11.1. To date, Barco has installed its surround sound system in China and Russia, with additional installations having begun to take place in other parts of the world. This audio solution elevates the viewer's sound experience to an incredible level of hearing acuity. To understand the concept, you just have to imagine a flock of birds flying over the heads of the spectators, and then circling the room. To achieve this truly immersive experience, The system deploys a small number of additional speakers in the upper parts of the room to add another dimension of sound. The solution is 100% backwards and forwards compatible with existing sound systems, so minimal investment in hardware and installation time is required. When combined with the new 4K projectors, The system represents a total multi-sensory immersive sensation. “The new generation of sound that Barco proposes could not come at a better time … It is the perfect complement to the giant screen and 3D movie projection., extending immersion so that cinema completely envelops the audience with a realistic image and sound experience that is natural in all its dimensions”, Don Kempf has recognized, president of D3D Cinema. Barco's immersive proposal, in collaboration with D3D Cinema, is based on two 4K DLP Cinema projectors. At the Digital Film Symposium held at Moody Gardens in Galveston (Texas) earlier this year, We were already able to verify the possibilities of this proposal by projecting side-by-side with two DP4K-32B projectors on a screen of 25 metros. Since then, Barco, in collaboration with D3D cinema, has marked the first commercial installation of its 4K dual-projection system at the DynaTheater at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science in Albuquerque, New Mexico. “We are excited to offer our customers an attractive alternative to traditional large format cinema offerings., now with the added benefit of Auro-3D audio. We can offer this unprecedented opportunity for exhibitors, Keeping our promise of offering the best digital cinema technology at the lowest cost”, pointed out Wim Buyens, Senior VP of Barco Entertainment.
