Christie virtually builds Cluny Abbey in three dimensions
Presenting a life-size architectural project or visiting places that no longer exist is the mission of LITE (Light Immersive Transportable Environment), a portable virtual immersion unit developed for the Cluny Center of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers ParisTech. Its display system is based on two Christie Mirage HD6 projectors with two Stewart screens of 4 meters wide by 2,25 meters high, for a total projection area of 18 square meters.

Following a call for tender published in April 2009 por Alone, The development and integration of LITE was entrusted to a company called Immersion. It is a European company specialized in custom virtual reality and simulation solutions.. Immersion turned to Christie to provide the video projectors to reproduce the active 3D immersive visual environment. “Having seen the excellent performance of Christie Mirage products in previous installations, Choosing the Mirage HD6 equipped with Christie Twist technology was very natural for us”.
As an integral part of the Gunzo project, the interdisciplinary platform for the understanding and development of Cluny heritage, a joint project between Ensam and the Center of National Monuments, LITE was installed and launched in November 2009.
