Neat Group, group of companies specialized in technology applied to healthcare environments, has carried out a study that shows that health services supported by telecare technology such as its TeleMedCare system represent savings of 69% in healthcare costs.

Neat Group shows in the projects carried out with its TeleMedCare system a 69% reduction in healthcare costs. TeleMedCare is a patient monitoring system that allows monitoring and control primarily of chronic diabetes patients., hypertension, obesity or COPD. In some of the experiences there was a reduction in 143 days of hospital stay, passing from 203 a 60 days. Also noteworthy is the decrease in home visits by health personnel of up to a 38% or appointments in nursing consultations in a 43%.

According to Adolfo Tamames, president of NEAT Group: “At Grupo NEAT we are clearly committed to cost savings in the social and healthcare sector.”. The patient can be equally cared for thanks to telehealth systems such as TeleMedCare. Proof of this is that among the data from the study, the number of consultations with the GP decreased by 16%. Let's think that it is a tool for the health team, that can perform periodic monitoring without the need for the patient to travel.”.

TeleMedCare
TeleMedCare consists of a monitor that allows telemonitoring of vital signs such as blood pressure, glucose levels, body weight and lung capacity using a blood pressure monitor, thermometer, electrocardiograph, spirometer, pulse oximeter, scale and glucometer, plus others that can be added.

In these projects, carried out outside Spain, The TeleMedCare platform is integrated with the management platform of the health service itself, thus facilitating the work of healthcare personnel. The system has an integration tool with third-party platforms, based on standard protocols, which optimizes the management of health services.

Neat Group has already started a telemonitoring project for chronic patients in Spain, TeleMedCare's own management tool is being used for this service., that has a decision support system that alerts healthcare personnel of results outside pre-established limits, as well as trends in the evolution of vital signs.

“Another function is to monitor, evaluate and personalize the treatment of users with long-term illnesses, as well as the management of chronic diseases”, concludes Tamames. In brief, Neat Group, expects to publish results about the savings produced in this project carried out in Spain.
