Unitronics will supply and install 124 video conferencing systems in 114 public centers of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The project is part of the ICT TAC Extremadura agreement signed by Red.es and the Board of that Community and is co-financed with FEDER funds from the European Union.

Unitronics has been awarded the bidding procedure launched by Red.es to carry out the supply, installation and training in the use of videoconferencing systems in 114 public centers of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Public Employment Service, Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Innovation, Yuste European Academic Foundation and First Vice Presidency and Spokesperson, for a total of 124 rooms of different sizes and specifications.

This project is framed within the actions of the ICT TAC Extremadura agreement signed by Red.es and the Board with the objective of carrying out actions for the development of the Information Society in the Autonomous Community through the effective use of new technologies in the field of services for Citizens. It is carried out thanks to co-financing from the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), which allows us to contribute to improving the social cohesion of the Spanish regions by correcting the main regional imbalances. Concretely, It is executed for its participation in the Knowledge-Based Economy Operational Program (Poec).

Communication between municipalities
The videoconferencing project for which Unitronics was awarded, seeks to precisely reinforce the services provided to citizens in Extremadura, through the installation of a videoconferencing system that allows, among other things, improve the effectiveness of communication between different locations. It will also serve to allow online training through video conferencing., as well as for immediate connection with the most isolated locations in the Community.

The project includes two centralized videoconferencing services facilities, one for the centers dependent on the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and another to group the rest of the centers. Given that the Junta de Extremadura already has part of the videoconferencing infrastructure, This project expands its scope allowing its interoperability and redundancy to avoid failures. It also allows, in other features, recording sessions. In this way, better use can be made of the entire system and it will encourage citizens to get closer to the Community..

For this project, videoconferencing equipment from the manufacturer Cisco Systems has been used.. In addition to the central videoconferencing infrastructure distributed between the CPD of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the CPD of Paseo de Roma s/n (Merida), The rooms are distributed as follows: 34 professional videoconferencing terminals in the room that will be accompanied by LCD monitors and mobile furniture where both the codec and the monitor can be placed; y 90 software applications for video conferencing on PC that will be accompanied by web cameras and audio systems approved for video conferencing on PC.
