Black Box proposes portable digital signage for “wear it”
Multimedia and digital signage technology provider Black Box has launched the iCompel WDS, that allows companies to improve B2B or B2C marketing using images and videos that are distributed through miniature players worn by sellers.
Black Box has announced the launch of iCompel WDS , a centralized management platform for portable digital signage. WDS players carry an ID card-sized screen that displays customized full-motion video pieces designed to attract attention and increase person-to-person sales interaction.
In addition to the LCD label 2,4 inches rechargeable, The iCompel WDS system includes access to a web portal for editing and customizing video content with special effects, text scroll, logos and brands. Content can range from simple text and JPG images in a presentation to a video. When used with the Black Box iCompel EDS platform, content can be updated from a central location.
George Borden, Black Box digital signage national sales manager, has stated: “From an Internet connection, You just have to enter our web portal to change commercial content on the fly. The latest content replaces other content on the players every time a WDS user connects their player to their PC. This way, each person has access to your most recent signage messages and promotions”.
iCompel WDS has applications in POS/POP advertising in the retail sector, for restaurant service staff, for receptionists and tourist tour staff, as well as in convention event marketing. “Besides, It is a novel way for sellers to gain an advantage”, añde Borden.
Each player comes with a magnetic clip to attach to clothing, to a lanyard to wear around the neck, to a mini-USB cable for recharging via a USB port and downloading PC content to the player, and to an AC charger.
