Lightmouse LM-5: A new concept in lighting control
WORK has launched a new DMX console that consists of a ARTNET2 node to which memory has been added to store Cues of 512 channels and cue-list (until 24). The product is called LightMouse 5 (LM-5) and allows you to control, program and run DMX using OSC (Open Sound Control) so with apps like TouchOSC (iPhone, iPad, Android) it is possible to create custom layouts for each user.
Lighting control in the entertainment industry has been undergoing constant change in recent years. Numerous different solutions have appeared to control small, medium and large events, and smaller, cheaper lighting consoles are being replaced by computer control software (PC and Mac), which are often too complicated to be handled by the end user. The Lightmouse LM-5 from WORK, It is a change of concept that will change the rules of the game, as it allows the user to design their own lighting console based on their needs for each specific application.
Almost everyone uses a smartphone or tablet now, and with the LM-5 it has been possible to create a device that allows you to design your own console using an iPhone, iPad or Android, thanks to the fact that it can be controlled by open OSC protocol (Open Sound Control). This makes it compatible with Lightmouse apps such as TouchOSC and Lemur (available in the APP store and Android Market) Developed by third parties, that allow you to customize the control interface and create a console tailored to your own needs.
In this way, it will be possible to configure different console layouts that adapt to each application in which, for example, an RGB application will need 3 Faders (R, G, B) A master, blackout and probably Amber or White (depending on the arrangements), while an app for a small club (with a few moving heads, Leds, etc.) you'll need a totally different console design. With the LM-5, Both console concepts can be pre-designed and customized, adapting to the specifications required in each case.
With a memory capable of storing 100 Scenes and 24 shows, its most innovative feature is that such memory can be programmed and run using OSC applications on a smartphone or tablet (Patent pending grant). The Lightmouse LM-5 is therefore like a "Swiss Army knife", since it not only has ArtNet Node (Ethernet to DMX interface ) but it can also be controlled by OSC server to create DMX data. It also has an internal memory to store DMX, Cues, and Cue-lists, with your own stand and fade time, and allows you to use 512 DMX channels with 99 Scenes and shows. All these features make the LM-5 a perfect Lightmouse for all types of commercial installations, as well as leisure facilities in clubs, Bars, Small Events, etc.
