Polycom and HTC join forces to provide HD video conferencing for mobile phones

Audio and video conferencing products maker Polycom and HTC Corporation, global smartphone designer, have announced an agreement to collaborate and implement Polycom RealPresence Mobile on HTC smartphones and tablets by mid-year. 2012.

Polycom y HTC Corporation have reached a collaboration agreement under which HTC devices will be certified as 'Polycom ready' and optimized for RealPresence Mobile, anticipating that this solution will be available for download on HTC smartphones and tablets through the Android Market in mid- 2012.

RealPresence Mobile, activated by Platform Polycom RealPresce, is a mobile-secure, enterprise-grade software solution that extends the reach of video collaboration beyond the conference room., enabling users who travel frequently to easily connect via their mobile device to other standards-based video systems including immersive video rooms, group/desktop systems, laptops, tablets and smartphones with HD quality.

The announcement continues Polycom's goal of making video collaboration a mainstream medium by providing easy-to-use, standards-based software for anyone in any environment they find themselves in.. The Polycom and HTC agreement has focused on the opportunity that has arisen today thanks to the 1.000 million mobile workers – more than a third of the world’s entire workforce – and anticipated growth in 1.300 million mobile workers in the next three years.
