New Shure subminiature microphones for the Microflex range
Shure has expanded its Microflex microphone portfolio with the MX150 subminiature lapel microphone and the MX153 headmount microphone..
Shure, distributed in Spain by Earpro, has presented new models in its line of Microflex microphones. New models include the MX150 subminiature lapel microphone and the MX153 skull-mounted microphone. With a discreet design and CommShield technology to inhibit interference from mobile phones or other wireless devices, Microflex series microphones are ideal for broadcast use, conferences, theater and countless applications.
Chad Wiggins, “Category Director” for wired microphones at Shure, has pointed out that “most events are currently recorded on video to facilitate their dissemination on the Internet.”, so appearance has become a determining factor. The MX150 lavalier and MX153 headset microphone are designed to provide excellent sound quality with very reduced visibility to cameras and the public.”.
The MX150 lavalier microphone, subminiature and very light, is available with an omnidirectional or cardioid polar pattern, and for wired or wireless configurations. Features a new adjustable foam windshield, to reduce external noise. A new multi-position tie clip reduces cable noise when driving in circles, and can be mounted horizontally or vertically for use on any type of clothing. The same clip can accommodate single or double microphones for applications where redundancy is required.
The MX153 subminiature microphone is ideal for use as speech reinforcement or situations where a lavalier microphone does not provide sufficient gain before feedback.. The MX153 features a padded ear ring for added comfort, and a flexible pole for easier placement. The MX153 is available in black, coffee and cocoa to match all major skin tones.
In the production of television shows, Versatility and visibility are equally important. “The MX150 represents a great improvement in the noise of the cable and its handling, and its multi-position tie clip makes it easy to attach to clothing, as both a man and a woman,” commented John Christie., RF coordinator for the Canadian TV show 'So You Think You Can Dance'. Christie has also been convinced by her windbreak: “I like the closure that keeps it securely in place. Visually it looks very good and less foam means less coloration of the sound”.
Both the new MX150 and MX153 feature Shure's CommShield technology. CommShield technology consists of RF meshing and filtering that makes the microphone highly resistant to RF interference from mobile phones or other wireless equipment.
