NEC Display Solutions launches two new OPS devices for digital signage
NEC Display Solutions has presented two new PCs compatible with the Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) for integration with a selection of large screens and multimedia projectors from the Japanese firm in digital signage applications.
NEC Display Solutions has announced two new devices compatible with the Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) for complete integration with the multimedia displays and projectors of this information technology solutions provider company. The OPS platform is an industry-wide standard for digital signage design and development to simplify installation and maintenance. These internal PCs can run multiple video formats and 1080p high definition content and are intended for use with digital signage in airports., quick service restaurants, education, rental and staging, business receptions, health centers and retail stores.
The new OPS-PCIC family uses the Intel Sandy Bridge microarchitecture with a CPU of 2,5 GHz Dual Core i5 y 2 GB of RAM. With an integrated Ethernet connection system, one DisplayPort output and four USB ports, Connectivity is easy to manage and easy to use. The OPS-PCIC family includes the following models: OPS-PCIC-5WH, Windows 7 Embedded 7 y 250 GB OPS-PCIC 5Ws disk, Windows 7 Embedded 7 y 32 GB solid state drive.
Rachel Karnani, product manager for large displays at NEC Display Solutions, has indicated: “Customers can enjoy simplified and seamless integration with OPS devices, because DVI video, stereo audio, RS232 control and power all passed internally to display from OPS device. OPS devices are durable and protected with a stainless steel chassis, as well as integrated cooling fans. With platforms based on Intel and AMD, NEC's OPS portfolio responds to the broad spectrum of customer needs.”
The new models join the OPS OPS-PCIA PC families, OPS-PCAFQ y OPS-PCAF, providing customers with a variety of high-end performance options:
- OPS-PCIA devices use a 2nd generation Intel Dual Core ATOM processor along with an Nvidia ION2 GPU and are ideal for commercial applications
- OPS-PCAFQ devices consist of an AMD Fusion Quad Core APU processor with integrated ATI graphics. These models are designed to handle high-end digital content
- OPS-PCAF devices operate with a processor 1.6 GHz Dual Core Fusion from AMD and integrated ATI graphics. These are ideal for running most content
PH1000U projectors, PX700W, PX750U and PX800X are compatible with most OPS devices, while the super slim X461S and X551S LCD displays are compatible with all OPS families. The OPS Device Adapter (SB-02AM) required for V422 models, V462, V551, V651, V651-Touch, P402, P462, P552, P702, X463UN y X551UN.
