Toshiba launches a new hard drive for professional applications 900 GB and 10.500 rpm
Toshiba has announced the launch of the AL13SEB900, a new hard drive for professional applications 2,5 inches with a rotation speed of 10.500 rpm y 900 GB of storage capacity, the highest in the industry.
Toshiba has just added the AL13SEB900 to its range of hard drives for business applications, a 2.5 disk″ y 10.500 revolutions per minute speed that has the largest storage capacity on the market, 900 GB. This new disk improves the current offer in transfer speed, reading accuracy and energy consumption. Its greater storage capacity is based on a data density per area of 856 Mbit/mm2, achieved by using a new improved magnetic data recording head and a new magnetic layer on the disk.
The AL13SEB900 offers a transfer speed of 286 MB/s, and 32% faster than Toshiba's previous generation of drives, and is the first on the market that uses a dual-stage recording head to position itself that provides a 30% more precision and more stable and secure operation for data.
Regarding its energy and environmental efficiency, its energy consumption has been improved by 41%, compared to its predecessors and does not use halogens or antimony, two polluting substances. These two features allow customers to reduce their CO2 emissions by 2,4 kg per year.
The hard drive market for enterprise applications is increasing demand for 2.5" drives.″, since they are smaller, consume less energy, They generate less heat and have faster processing speed than 3.5″. These 2.5 discs″ are used in servers, storage systems and data centers.
