Taiwanese industrial hardware manufacturer AAEON Technology has launched the EMB-H61A, a Mini-ITX board with a 3rd generation Intel Core processor and an Intel H61 chipset. On DDR3 memory 1066/1333 from up to 16 GB is viable for two SODIMM modules and its two SATA ports 3.0 Gb/s and CF-SATA provide ample storage space.

AEON has added to its product catalog a new Mini-ITX board based on a 3rd generation Intel Core processor: the EMB-H61A, which uses a desktop CPU, enabling high performance at 35W TDP.

The EMB-H61A is a powerful new Mini-ITX form factor with an Intel Core i7/i5/i3 processor and an Intel H61 chipset.. Supports up to 16 GB of DDR3 memory via SODIMM slots. Besides, The EMB-H61A offers six COM ports (one RS-232/422/485 connector and five RS-232 pin headers), eight USB ports 2.0 and an eight-bit digital I/O. With optional CompactFlash slot and standard SATA connectors, storage requirements are easy to meet. For network connectivity, The EMB-H61A features two Gigabit Ethernet on board to provide faster network communication. As a Mini-ITX form factor board, Users can expand functionality with additional modules or use the mini PCI-Express card to easily achieve greater functionality from this small but powerful board.

Randy Chang, Product Manager of the Industrial Systems Division of AAEON, has pointed: “The EMB-H61A has a scalable design from Intel's second generation to third generation processors.. How it supports dual HD displays via DVI and HDMI, The EMB-H61A is ideal for digital signage and interactive POS/kiosk applications.
