Manufacturer of modular solutions open to the market of Telecom, Kontron, has brought to market motherboard based on ARM KTT30/mITX, which incorporates a super-processor 3 Tegra from NVIDIA and card processing Cortex-A9 Quad-Core 900 MHz, that increases the multimedia performance and reduces power consumption.

As part of its "strategic entry" on ARM processor technology, Kontron He has presented its first plate mother ARM-based Mini-ITX (170 x 170 mm) format. The Kontron KTT30/mITX model is equipped with a super processor NVIDIA Tegra 3 and combines excellent multimedia performance with low power consumption. The integration of a GPU GeForce12-core ultra low power consumption allows ARM Cortex-A9 Quad-Core 900 MHz processor card offers a great 3D graphics performance, it makes possible resolutions of 2048 x 1536 pixels and "spent" less than 7 W.

These features contribute to that plate complies with the requirements of a large number of embedded graphics applications and video, such as 'thinclients', Panel PC and Mini-Box PC in vertical markets. And, with an availability of at least seven years, also exceeds the needs of health settings, rail traffic and public safety.

Thanks to the standardized Mini-ITX format, the Kontron KTT30/mITX paves the way for OEMs to integrate innovative technology ARM, both 'off-the-shelf' as in embedded applications. Not only OEMs benefit from a wide range of Mini-ITX peripherals, but also design services to measure and support software for Android and Linux with the aim of minimising the time and development costs.

Multi-purpose device

In addition to the numerous interfaces USB and RS232, audio and video and the extension miniPCIe slot, the Kontron KTT30/mITX Board offers a wide selection of other interfaces to suit any project.

Extremely low power consumption is essential in solutions of passive ventilation with small size and reduces the Bill of materials and the development effort at the same time that simplifies implementation.

Its compact format (with a height of only 15.2 mm) is also suitable in extremely flat systems, since they can be directly mounted on the back of monitors and panels of video (for example, for HMI or digital signage players). In addition, the card supports Full-HD (1080 p) video for tasks of playback and recording in videoconferencing and security applications.

Like the rest of of Kontron embedded motherboards, the new model is presented with availability in the long term (at least seven years) and high stability and reliability as a result of the distribution of high quality and the selection of components. The features are completed with RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port and analog audio I/O.
