f QNAP presents the new high-performance Turbo NAS series TS-x69L for professionals and SMEs

QNAP Systems, provider of complete high-tech network attached storage solutions (NAS) and network video recording (NVR), has launched the new TS-x69L series of Turbo NAS, available in versions of 2, 4, 5, 6 y 8 bays, incorporating a high-performance dual-core Intel Atom processor and 1GB DDR3 RAM.

QNAP Systems has introduced its latest business series Turbo NAS TS-x69L. The new TS-x69L series, available in versions of 2, 4, 5, 6 y 8 bays, integrates a high-performance dual-core Intel Atom processor, with 1GB DDR3 RAM, which, can be expanded to 3GB optionally. Supports 2.5 SATA hard drives and SSDs″ y 3,5″ up to 4TB, and two USB ports 3.0 for high speed backups. TS-x69L NAS series supports Microsoft Windows, Linux/UNIX and the latest Mac OS Mountain Lion, and provides the levels of performance and high-capacity storage that SMB users need.

The TS-x69L series integrates 512MB of DOM (Disk in Module) with a dual firmware image design to avoid system downtime. In case the firmware becomes corrupted due to accidental power loss during system boot, The NAS will boot with the backup firmware and then automatically recover the damaged one for continued system operation.

By having a multitude of business applications and quality hardware design, The TS-x69L series is designed to meet the needs of small and medium-sized business users for complete and reliable storage solutions., in order to optimize virtualization environments. The iSCSI protocol provides an optimal IP-SAN solution for server virtualization with the support of VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer y Microsoft Hyper-V. By being VMware Ready for ESXi certified 5, TS-x69L series supports vSphere 4 y vSphere 5. Besides, TS-x69L series also supports Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN), which, can be used to create different network segments for various devices to communicate with each other regardless of physical location.

High storage speed

The new series comes with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, “Test statistics from QNAP labs reveal that both read and write speeds in a Windows environment exceed the 220 MBps in network link mode, providing excellent speed for storage and virtualization environments”, Jason Hsu expressed, QNAP Product Manager.

The TS-x69L series provides a cost-effective way to build a private cloud storage solution with cross-platform file sharing and centralized storage for Windows users, Mac y Linux/UNIX. When you enable the Windows AD or LDAP directory service, IT administrators can retrieve user accounts from the Windows AD or LDAP-based directory server and assign access rights to the Turbo NAS to reduce time and effort in configuring accounts for large-scale businesses. For access rights control, Windows ACL function (Access Control List) allows sophisticated configuration of shared folder permissions and, in this way, Simplify IT administration for businesses with large numbers of users.

Backup options

Flexible backup solutions include Real-Time Remote Replication (RTRR) for real-time or scheduled data backups, Back up data to Amazon S3 cloud-based storage, ElephantDrive y Symform, and third-party backup software support, such as Veeam Backup & Replication y Acronis True Image. Besides, with imaging technology, IT administrators can use LUN images to backup LUN contents to multiple storage destinations. Free QNAP NetBak Replicator app helps PC users establish real-time sync, perform scheduled backups and automatic backups to the Turbo NAS with just a few clicks. Besides, TS-x69L series supports backup with Apple Time Machine. Mac OS X users can backup their data to the Turbo NAS, restore system or recover files from a specific backup time interval.

TS-x69L series features Surveillance Station Pro for advanced network surveillance, being compatible with more than 1.400 IP cameras and with a free camera license. Licenses can be purchased for additional cameras. Users can install a maximum of 12 IP cameras in TS-x69L series.

Successful management of the rapid growth of digital information is necessary for business accessibility and continuity.. Network Attached Storage (NAS) provides a centralized, secure solution for small businesses to share and access data. “These QNAP NAS solutions with Intel Atom technologies as their central axis, provide protection to critical business information”, ha expresado David Tuhy, general manager of Intel Storage Group.
