Sony will present a new set of video surveillance system migration solutions at the 20th edition of the Security Essen fair, the safety and fire protection fair that will take place on 25 al 28 September in the German town of Essen, on the grounds of the Essen Messe. The Japanese company will take advantage this biennial event, the European benchmark in the security sector, to demonstrate its innovative role in the field of HD video technology for security applications.

Sony will present its latest video surveillance news at Security Essen 2012. The company will demonstrate how its products allow customers to integrate new and existing technologies through Hybrid and IPELA solutions. The adoption of IP technology is experiencing rapid growth thanks to the recognition of its many advantages by companies and government institutions., that are considering the possibility of migrating from their current analog system to an IP-based video surveillance system.

Currently there are several ways to migrate from analog systems to IP technology., but most of them include hybrid encoders and recorders that only allow switching from standard definition analog installations (SD) to IP systems exclusively based on the SD format. To meet market demand, Sony offers the IPELA Hybrid camera, that can migrate from analog SD systems to IP-based HD systems and can be seen in action at Security Essen 2012.

Transition from analog to HD

Ryan Kawashima, This is how the strategic marketing manager at Sony Europe talks about this solution: “Security Essen 2012 comes at an interesting time of change. The analog CCTV camera market has already peaked due to increased price competition from network cameras and their ability to deliver impressive levels of clarity and visibility., as well as providing real-time surveillance in multiple locations. Sony migration solutions provide a cost-effective and flexible modernization path for organizations looking to move from analog to HD.. We want to make the transition to HD as easy as possible for our clients and, at the same time, help them determine which parts of the installation should remain and which should be replaced in the process”.

Sony is also introducing unprecedented improvements to image quality. IPELA Engine technology (TM) has been integrated into a new generation of products that provide 60 frames per second (FPS) at Full HD resolution (1080p). This has defined a new technological standard for the development of security in sectors such as casinos., traffic control and urban surveillance.

Sony will present new products equipped with IPELA Engine technology (TM) en Security Essen 2012 and will carry out all the demonstrations at its stand (nº 509), located in the Hall 2.
