Bank Experiments with Augmented Reality Virtual Gaming Screen to Engage Consumers
The North American credit institution Grow Financial has opened a new branch in downtown Tampa (Florida, EU) which features a virtual gaming screen with interactive technology designed by Inwindow Outdoor. The installation is a video mirror with gesture recognition and augmented reality that uses a HD video wall of 6 touch-sensitive screens and glass.
Grow Financial is testing a new way to attract passersby to its branches: an interactive video wall that invites people to play a game where they can win cash. The new office of the credit institution recently opened in the city of Tampa (Florida, EU) It has a virtual machine that people use to “catch” cash, using gesture recognition technology. The bank is using a combination of gaming and augmented reality, two new concepts for financial services that, although they do not have an important history yet, are looking for new ways to make the banking experience more fun.

New way to attract potential clients
The screens have been installed by the outdoor digital technology company Inwindow Outdoor on the facade of the branch. The screens incorporate gesture recognition technology, that tracks and recognizes body movements, that are replicated in a virtual mirror. When people walk past these interactive windows, screens show bills floating around, as if they were pushed by a breeze caused by the passage of pedestrians. Users can select the home button, choose a virtual game and play for prizes including 25 dollars for a checking account, 100 dollars for a car purchase loan, o 300 dollars for a loan to purchase a new home.
After selection, the virtual machine activates around the user's digital reflection, and during a countdown of 30 seconds, he has to move his arms and “grab” and collect all the virtual tickets you can. At the end of the game, Users enter their email addresses and receive personalized coupons, a photo of you playing and instructions for claiming your prize in one of the 19 bank offices.
