Crown DCi

With the new DCi power amplifier series (DriveCore Install), Crown has strengthened its position as a provider of amplification solutions. The new DCi series of stereo and multi-channel analog amplifiers, Heir to Crown's acclaimed CT series, incorporates a long series of improvements such as DriveCore technology, Harman exclusive, setting a new standard in terms of reliability, sound quality, flexibility and efficiency.

There are twelve models in the DCi series, available in Spain and Portugal from the hand of Earpro: from 300 hasta 600W (a 4 y 8 ohms and constant voltage lines of 70 y 100V). To facilitate your recognition, Crown has created a handy nomenclature. The first number on the model indicates the number of channels and the second number indicates the power ratio of watts per channel (For example, the model 2/300 It has two channels and 300 watts per channel). All amplifiers have a 2U height for racks, thus minimizing the space occupied in the case of installations.

Daniel Saenz, Business Segment Manager en Crown, consider that “with the launch of the DCi series, we had to surpass the established mark with our CT series, which had become a true industry standard for sound installation applications. It wasn't easy, but the new DCi series offers a level of performance that had not been achieved until today, and will be adopted as the new reference by professionals in the audio industry”.

Crown DCiAt the heart of the DCi series we find the microchip IC, exclusive to Crown and Harman amplifiers. DriveCore micro chip combines the driver stage with the power output stage, along with additional audio signal functions, all in the size of a postage stamp. DriveCore technology and innovative DCi amplifier features dramatically reduce equipment size and power requirements, offering much more effective operation, in accordance with the GreenEdge environmental protection initiative, by Harman.

DriveCore technology radically reduces the impact of Crown amplifiers, replacing near of 500 necessary parts in the design of a traditional amplifier by a single IC chip. Besides, Having smaller amplifier motors means they can be equipped with more channels, in a 2RU rack box with higher capacity.

Crown DCi Series amplifiers can be operated at loads of 8, 4 o 2 ohms and offer a constant voltage with 70V and 100V line voltages at maximum power, without the need for an output transformer, providing better quality in audio distribution applications. DCi series amplifiers use a unique universal switching power supply, with power factor correction, designed to offer maximum power in any country. Its universal AC inputs accept voltages of 100 up to 240V, 50/60Hz (+/- 10%).

The DCi series is the most environmentally friendly line of Crown amplifiers that the American brand has launched., thanks to its power factor corrected power supply and selectable power saving mode, in which the amplifier will automatically turn off at 30 minutes of receiving input signal, with a consumption of less than 1W. In addition to the balanced 3-pin input connectors and the 2-pin terminal strip output connectors, A port on the rear panel allows the amplifiers to be integrated into control systems for remote power on and off., and monitoring of possible failures.

These amplifiers are designed and built to withstand the most demanding conditions in professional environments.
