The Galicia ICT Cluster organizes a conference on intelligent video systems for companies

In collaboration with Gradiant, The ICT Cluster has held an event in which the application of intelligent video systems in different sectors has been analyzed.

The Technological City of Vigo (Citexvi) has been the scenario chosen by the Cluster TIC Galicia y Gradient to celebrate a day that featured intelligent video systems for companies.

At the event, that took place today 24 July, The business opportunities and business profitability of the use of intelligent video analysis systems in different business and industrial sectors have been shown and analyzed..

Utilities as innovative as being able to immediately and in real time count the people attending an event; using the recognition of facial features in security access or applications related to health and well-being are some of the demonstrations that could be seen at the event.

Four presentations

The four presentations, by researchers and experts, have focused not only on the exhibition of the latest advances in intelligent video systems, but above all in the practical applications that these systems have for the business sector.

The first presentation was about video analytics systems (interpretation of scenes) applied to security and smart cities.

In the second presentation, the concepts of biometric recognition and facial analysis and their practical application in various fields were discussed., such as use in access control through facial recognition, demographic classification for digital signage and facial tracking and expression analysis for HCI, leisure and health, among others.

The third presentation of the day was dedicated to the applications of video analysis captured with 3D consumer electronics sensors (like Kinect from Microsoft or Xtion from Asus).

In the last presentation of the day, the concept of augmented reality and its usefulness in multiple sectors (industrial, engineering, manufacturing, health, education, entertainment, turismo, feeding, construction, moda…) has been the main topic.
