Canon imageFormula ScanFront 330: network scanner for offices and customer service points
ScanFront 330 is the new scanner developed by Canon for its imageFormula range as a solution for the ad-hoc capture of transactional data in large corporate departments, local offices and customer service points.
Canon has expanded its range of imageFormula scanners with the ScanFron model 330, a compact model that allows documents to be shared and processed more efficiently in large corporate departments, offices and customer service points, since it offers several file sending options, from scanning network folders to email, FTP, fax, printing and USB memory.
This equipment scans up to 60ipm and includes a new mechanism design for the feed roller, increasing feeding and separation reliability when scanning mixed batches of documents. Besides, Integrates an ultrasonic double feed detection sensor to prevent any important documents from being left uncaptured.
ScanFront 330 has the new software development kit on the web (SDK) so developers can create custom, connected ‘capture apps’, as well as transfer the metadata in CSV or XML format with the image file by creating new ways to integrate the data into existing document management processes.
Document security is ensured by setting up user control restrictions and document encryption with password protection., plus LDAP support via SSL communication (LDAPS), which encrypts data sent between the client and the LDAP server.
Sean Suematsu, Director of Document Scanning Solutions at Canon Europe, points out that “the way we work is evolving at a spectacular rate, especially in the financial sectors, health and retail. Network scanners play a crucial role in establishing this level of connectivity, in addition to helping reduce costs and improve customer service”.
